Pros

  • Has a maximum weight limit of 260 lbs
  • Has a maximum range of 9 mi
  • Has a maximum incline climb of 15°
  • Has onboard indicators

Our second model is another YHR Bluetooth hoverboard, but this time you have a wealth of different design options to choose from to make sure you get one with Bluetooth connectivity. Unlike other YHR Bluetooth hoverboards, you do not have to worry about staying with only flashy designs to get Bluetooth compatibility.

One of the more pleasant surprises regarding this Bluetooth hoverboard is its recharge time which sits near the lowest on our list at only between 2 to 4 hours. Much like other YHR Bluetooth hoverboards, this model also sports a solid maximum speed of 9 mph, allowing you to zip around quickly.

Of course, this YHR Bluetooth hoverboard can support the weight of many adults with a maximum weight limit of up to 260 pounds.

  • Has a maximum speed of 9 mph
  • Has a maximum weight limit of 260 lbs
  • Has solid anti-slip pads
  • Has a charging time of 2 to 4 hrs

Even better, this hoverboard also has one of the quicker charging times we encountered at only between 2 to 4 hours.

3. UNI-SUN Hoverboard for Kids, 6.5″ Self Balancing Hoverboard with Bluetooth and LED Lights

UNI-SUN is a fairly large Bluetooth hoverboard manufacturer with plenty of different models and series on the market, with particular entry being ideal for someone looking to make a statement. Aside from the fact that this Bluetooth hoverboard boasts a loud design, it also sports some of the more colorful LED light patterns.

While that design might seem more appropriate for younger riders, this should not be much of an issue as the maximum weight limit is 264 pounds, though still plenty for many adults. Beyond the look, this UNI-SUN Bluetooth hoverboard can also lay claim to one of the fastest top speeds on our list, able to rush by at 9 ⅓ mph.

A big part of what allows this Bluetooth hoverboard to achieve such quick speeds is its inclusion of dual 300-watt motors, one for each tire.

Pros

  • Has a max speed of 9 ⅓ mph
  • Has a charging time of 3 to 5 hrs
  • Has dual 300-watt motors
  • Has a maximum weight limit of 264 lbs
  • Has a UL 2272 certified battery

Why We Liked It: Our first UNI-SUN hoverboard is also one of the more aesthetically uncommon, combining a striking print design with an extremely rare LED pattern for a unique result. You also do not need to worry about lagging behind any other hoverboards as the dual 300-watt motors can carry you along at quicker speeds than most.

4. FLYING-ANT Hoverboard Self Balancing Scooters 6.5″

Our first FLYING-ANT Bluetooth hoverboard makes an impression not only because it sports a sharp-looking design but also some impressive specs too. For example, you should be able to get more riding time out of this Bluetooth hoverboard than most thanks to a solid maximum range of 9 miles.

One thing that might seem like a flaw is the fact that this FLYING-ANT Bluetooth hoverboard can only reach a top speed of 7 ½ mph. However, this can help keep younger children and adolescents safe by restricting how quickly they zoom around on their hoverboard and helps reduce serious injury.

Thankfully, the maximum speed does not diminish the durability of this Bluetooth hoverboard which should last longer than some of its competition due to dual 300-watt motors.

Pros

  • Has a charging time of 3 to 5 hrs
  • Has a maximum range of 9 mi
  • Has a max speed of 7 ½ mph
  • Has dual 300-watt motors
  • Has a UL 2272 certified battery

Why We Liked It: Our first FLYING-ANT hoverboard jumps off of the screen with one of the best combinations of specs we found including one of better ranges at 9 miles and a great maximum weight limit which is large enough for many adults. It also does not hurt that the Graffiti Purple decal presents a striking profile.

5. UNI-SUN Hoverboard for Kids, 6.5″ Self Balancing Hoverboard with Bluetooth and LED Lights

Our second UNI-SUN Bluetooth hoverboard may seem similar to some of its brother products, but this entry offers some of the more exclusive designs the brand has to offer: the Chrome Series. Even better, the inclusion of the Chrome Series provides a sleek look that suits both children and adults equally.

This should work out exceptionally well when you consider that this UNI-SUN Bluetooth hoverboard supports a maximum weight limit of 264 pounds. Like some of the other models from this brand, the Chrome Series also provides a quicker maximum top speed of up to 9 ⅓ mph.

While not the sharpest incline we saw, this UNI-SUN Bluetooth hoverboard can also climb upwards of 15°.

Pros

  • Has dual 300-watt motors
  • Has a maximum weight limit of 264 lbs
  • Has a max speed of 9 ⅓ mph
  • Has a charging time of 3 to 5 hrs
  • Has a UL 2272 certified battery

Why We Liked It: Make sure to pick the Bluetooth model with our next UNI-SUN hoverboard, but you get the benefit of selecting some of the more uncommon designs the brand offers including their Chrome Series. Like other UNI-SUN hoverboards, this entry is easy to use with the power button and chagrin port readily accessible.

6. HOVERSTAR HS 2.0v Hoverboard All-Terrain Two Wide Wheels Design

HOVERSTAR is one of the more respected brands on our list, and the HOVERSTAR HS 2.0V or the H-Rogue also comes with uncommon features. One of the more noteworthy is the inclusion of all-terrain tires which not only allows you to ride this Bluetooth hoverboard places others cannot go but also reduces your risk of falling.

As if that were not enough, the HOVERSTAR HS 2.0V Bluetooth hoverboard can also reach the fastest speeds we reviewed with a top speed of 10 mph. To further complement that quick speed, this Bluetooth hoverboard also sports the second-longest maximum range as well at up 10 miles.

Topping it all off, the HOVERSTAR HS 2.0V Bluetooth hoverboard has the shortest charging time on our list of only between 2 to 3 hours.

Pros

  • Has a max speed of 10 mph
  • Has a maximum range of 10 mi
  • Has a charging time of 2 to 3 hrs
  • Has dual 200-watt motors

This hoverboard manages to accomplish both of these feats with dual 200-watt motors that take less time to charge than many of its competitors.

7. TOMOLOO Hoverboard with Bluetooth Speaker and LED Lights Self-Balancing Scooter

TOMOLOO is another Bluetooth hoverboard brand well-known in the industry and offers features you do not often see on other models. This particular model may be a parent’s dream as it is the only one we reviewed that includes app integration, allowing you to keep track of your rides and limit the maximum speed.

While not the fastest charging we encountered, the TOMOLOO Bluetooth hoverboard still boasts the second-fastest recharge ranging between 3 to 3 ½ hours. For those parents who want to get their child a hoverboard but do not want to have to worry about the constant hum of the motors, this is also the only option we encountered that uses brushless motors.

Not only will these brushless motors reduce the noise generated, but they will also last longer than brushed motors, durability further reinforced by an alloy frame.

Pros

  • Has brushless motors
  • Has app compatibility
  • Has a great build
  • Has a charging time of 3 to 3 ½ hrs
  • Has a UL 2272 certified battery

Why We Liked It: The TOMOLOO hoverboard is one of the more uncommon models on our list with a few features not found on many other entries we examined like the ability to control various aspects of the hoverboard through an app on your smart devices. This is also one of the only hoverboards we encountered that comes with brushless motors for increased durability and reduced noise.

8. FLYING-ANT Hoverboard 6.5” Two-Wheel Self Balancing Hoverboard

Our next FLYING-ANT Bluetooth hoverboard is the perfect choice for someone who wants their design to exude a little bit of attitude as they ride by. However, like other FLYING-ANT models, this Bluetooth hoverboard also makes sure to help keep younger children safer with a max speed of 7 ½ mph.

Thankfully, that max speed does not reduce how long or far your child can go on this FLYING-ANT Bluetooth hoverboard with a maximum range of up to 9 miles. On the other hand, there is no reason to assume that this Bluetooth hoverboard is only suitable for kids as it can support up to 260 pounds.

It is also worth noting that this FLYING-ANT Bluetooth hoverboard comes with dual 300-watt motors powered by 36V batteries.

Pros

  • Has a maximum range of 9 mi
  • Has dual 300-watt motors
  • Has a max speed of 7 ½ mph
  • Has a charging time of 2 to 3 hrs
  • Has a UL 2272 certified battery

Why We Liked It: The FLYING-ANT hoverboard offers a solid mix of specs with a good range as well as a mid-level top speed that is perfect for adolescents who have outgrown slower models. On top of that, this hoverboard also comes with a 36V Li-Ion battery pack that powers dual 300-watt motors for long-lasting performance.

9. UNI-SUN Hoverboard for Kids, Self Balancing Scooter 6.5″ Two-Wheel Self Balancing Hoverboard with Bluetooth and Lights

Our final UNI-SUN Bluetooth hoverboard splits the difference between some of the prior models and settles in a nice middle ground with a somewhat low price given the market. Thankfully, this does not impact the quality of this Bluetooth hoverboard as it still comes with dual 300-watt motors.

These powerful motors help drive this UNI-SUN Bluetooth hoverboard even when laden with a maximum weight limit of 200 pounds. Like some of the other Bluetooth hoverboards from this manufacturer, you can rest safely with the application of solid foot pads that offer a bit more grip than some of the competition.

The triple set of LED lights will also help keep you safe at night as you whiz by going up to 9 ⅓ mph.

Pros

  • Has dual 300-watt motors
  • Has a maximum weight limit of 200 lbs
  • Has a charging time of 4 to 5 hrs
  • Has a maximum range of 6 mi
  • Has a UL 2272 certified battery

Why We Liked It: Our final UNI-SUN hoverboard comes from the Pure-Color Series and may be one of the more all-around durable hoverboards we encountered thanks to a combination of its UL 2272 certification and dual 300-watt motors. This is also the only UNI-SUN series that allows you to choose a non-Bluetooth compatible model if you prefer.

10. YHR Hoverboards UL2272 Certified with Wireless Bluetooth Speaker LED Wheel 6.5inch Self Balancing Hoverboard for Kids

Our final YHR Bluetooth hoverboard follows the winning strategy of the company and provides one of the best all-around options we encountered. For starters, you do not have to worry about runtime quite as much as with some of the competition due to a relatively short charge time ranging between 2 to 4 hours.

On top of that, this Bluetooth hoverboard can tackle more than most thanks to the ability to climb inclines of up to 15° with no problems. That said, you may want to consider who is riding this Bluetooth hoverboard when tackling those inclines as it can support the weight of many adults with a maximum weight limit of 260 pounds.

This YHR Bluetooth hoverboard demonstrates its power in other areas as well like with a maximum top speed of 9 mph.

Pros

  • Has a maximum incline climb of 15°
  • Has a maximum speed of 9 mph
  • Has a maximum weight limit of 260 lbs
  • Has a charging time of 2 to 4 hrs
  • Has a UL 2272 certified battery

Why We Liked It: The YHR Camo Pink Hoverboard not only offers one of the more striking appearances but also boasts one of the better incline climbing abilities that we found. As if that were not enough, this Bluetooth hoverboard has a decent top speed with a maximum weight limit that is more than enough for the average adult.

11. XPRIT 6.5” Self Balancing Hoverboard, w/Wireless Speaker, UL2272 Certified

Our last Bluetooth hoverboard from XPRIT helps ensure that their products are ideal for kids without relying on you to hover over them. This begins with one of the more restricted maximum speeds on our list at 6 ⅕ mph to help reduce any risk of injury.

You also do not have to worry about your child riding too far away from you as the XPRIT Bluetooth hoverboard offers a maximum range of 6 ⅕ miles. However, this does not mean that this Bluetooth hoverboard is underpowered as it comes with a pair of dual 250-watt motors that help conserve battery life.

What is more impressive is that the XPRIT Bluetooth hoverboard can grow with your child thanks to a maximum weight limit of 220 pounds.

Pros

  • Has a maximum speed of 6 ⅕ mph
  • Has dual 250-watt motors
  • Has a maximum range of 6 ⅕ mi
  • Has a maximum weight limit of 220 lbs
  • Has a UL 2272 certified battery

Why We Liked It:

The XPRIT hoverboard is an excellent option for parents who want to get their child a Bluetooth hoverboard but do not feel confident that they can effectively control the hoverboard through an app. Also, the low speed does not necessarily prevent the parents from having fun as well with a solid maximum weight limit.

12. SISIGAD Hoverboard Self Balancing Scooter 6.5″ Two-Wheel Self Balancing Hoverboard with Bluetooth Speaker

This is the only SISIGAD Bluetooth hoverboard we reviewed, but it might be the easiest model you can get for a kid that we found. While some of the other Bluetooth hoverboards we reviewed restrict the speed to help reduce the risk of injury, the SISGAD takes this a step further with a top speed of 6 mph.

While this may seem somewhat limiting, the rest of the SISIGAD specs are fully in line with the market, so you do not have to worry about the Bluetooth hoverboard being low-quality. For instance, this Bluetooth hoverboard can climb inclines of up to 10° which is more than enough for most relatively flat surfaces.

You can also get some use out of the SISIGAD Bluetooth hoverboard thanks to its weight limit of 200 pounds.

Pros

  • Has a maximum weight limit of 200 lbs
  • Has a maximum incline climb of 10°
  • Has a maximum speed of 6 mph
  • Has dual 300-watt motors
  • Has a UL 2272 certified battery

Why We Liked It: The SISIGAD hoverboard immediately makes a decent impression with its ability to climb inclines of up to 10° without any problems. This almost certainly comes down to the fact that it comes with two 300-watt motors which are more than enough to allow some adults to ride this hoverboard as well.

Which Are the Best Hoverboards to Buy: Buyer’s Guide

Which Hoverboards Have Bluetooth?

When deciding which are the best hoverboards to buy, one of the main qualities that can sway your decision is which hoverboards have Bluetooth? However, you should also consider who the hoverboard’s primary rider will be as this may remove some potential options altogether– especially if the rider is an adult.

Do All Hoverboards Have Bluetooth?

It is important to remember that the answer to the question of do all hoverboards have Bluetooth is no. In fact, many of the products on our list have both Bluetooth and non-Bluetooth models, so make sure you choose the right one. Thankfully, the inclusion of Bluetooth compatibility does not generally increase the price of a hoverboard by a large margin.

Why Do Hoverboards Have Bluetooth?

If a hoverboard has Bluetooth, there are a couple of reasons it may, but they ultimately boil down to connectivity. That said the answer to why do hoverboards have Bluetooth changes over time with the initial reason being primarily for app-based interaction to provide more control over the hoverboard.

Can You Play Music on Hoverboard?

This question is a bit trickier than the prior ones as it includes more considerations than whether or not the hoverboard connects to smart devices via Bluetooth. Granted, that is a necessary component, but you also need to look for onboard speakers when answering can you play music on hoverboard or not. You can check how to do it on a link below.

Safety

This is arguably one of the biggest considerations regarding a hoverboard given all of the news coverage surrounding hoverboards a couple of years ago. It is worth noting that the spate of hoverboard malfunctions resulted from the use of low-quality batteries that suffered an internal puncture of some sort.

Because hoverboards use Lithium-Ion batteries, the electrolytic material in one battery can rapidly catch fire and ultimately damage the other batteries, causing a chain reaction. Thankfully, Underwriters Laboratories set up the 2272 standard and put certifying products through a 5-stage testing process to ensure safety.

Outside of battery safety, the other safety consideration involves the stability of a hoverboard which relies on a control board and gyroscopes in the chassis underneath the foot pads. On the plus side, few hoverboards have components that are bad enough to present a safety risk, though they may still malfunction.

Runtime and Charging

Regardless of whether the hoverboard is for an adult or child, no one wants to wait hours upon hours for their hoverboard to charge up before they can get on and go. This is where the runtime comes into play, but there are a couple of factors that influence it which will often increase or decrease a given charge’s runtime.

For example, the more batteries the hoverboard has as well as the lower voltage they put out, generally, the longer a hoverboard will run on a single charge. Likewise, the way that you ride the hoverboard also plays an important role, especially in terms of the speed you ride the hoverboard as well as the surface on which you ride.

Finally, adults get the short end of the stick as it relates to the load placed on the engine since they generally weigh significantly more than children. As such, any adult purchasing a hoverboard should expect the runtime to be a bit lower with them riding than advertised which usually considers children to be the primary user.

Complementary to runtime is the charging time with shorter charging times being preferable but also influenced by a multitude of factors. In the same way that the number and type of battery influence a hoverboard’s runtime, it also plays a factor in how long it takes to recharge after it runs dry.

However, it is important to realize that the voltage of a battery does not have as much impact on charging time as does the total ampere-hours or Ah. Another thing to consider is the charging device as different chargers push more or fewer amps into the battery with higher amps recharging hoverboards quicker than lower ones.

Distance

Similar to runtime, the distance is the maximum amount of distance the hoverboard can travel before it runs out of energy and needs to be recharged. Similar to runtime, different factors impact how much distance you can get out of a single charge, though these elements are even more meaningful.

For example, the more level the surface you ride across, the less energy the hoverboard has to use and the longer you will be able to ride before recharging. On the other hand, the speed may not necessarily impact the distance you can travel quite so much as long as the surface does not further tax the battery.

On the other hand, if you ride your hoverboard on modest inclines, the speed will play an even more outsized role in the distance you get on a single charge. In this instance, the faster you ride up an incline, the quicker the battery will drain and reduce the total distance you can travel before having to recharge it.

Speed

Speed is more or less important depending on the reason you want a hoverboard in the first place with it generally being more important to kids than adults. That is not to suggest that an adult does not enjoy riding on a quick hoverboard, but they also likely have access to other devices if they really want to go fast.

That said, this is a balancing act (literally), as younger children are less agile and may not be able to safely control a hoverboard once it exceeds a certain speed. It is also worth noting that the weight of an adult will often reduce the maximum speed of a hoverboard, even if the rider does not come close to the maximum weight limit.

Weight Limit

The weight limit of a hoverboard represents the upper limit on which it is safe to use the hoverboard, though it may not necessarily determine the weight limit under which the hoverboard fails. That said, if you weigh more than the hoverboard’s weight limit and injure yourself, you have no one else to blame but yourself.

Another aspect regarding weight to consider is the lower weight limit, though this may not necessarily be quite as important given you should not let extremely young children use hoverboards. That said, if you are looking for a hoverboard for a child who is underweight for their age, make sure the hoverboard will respond to their commands.

Conclusion

As we can see, while the hoverboard market may have exploded since they first came out, there are a couple of common approaches that find their way across many different manufacturers. One thing you do not have to worry about is battery safety as all hoverboards on our list are UL 2272 certified.

Still, there are a couple of different qualities that might stand out more than others, like the Hoverstar HS 2.0v with the fastest top speed on our list at 10 mph as well as one of the longest ranges too. Of course, the SISIGAD hoverboard might be able to take that concern away altogether with a maximum speed of only 6 mph.

The TOMOLOO Q2-C hoverboard might be the best option for parents as it is the only option on our list with a wide range of different app-based controls. If aesthetics and appearance are more your thing, the second YHR on our list has the most different designs to choose from.

If you are an adult, some of the UNI-SUN models towards the beginning of our list are probably better suited for you with their quick speed and, most importantly, a weight limit of 264 pounds.

Maybe you live in an area with steeper contours than other places and require a model that climbs like the UNI-SUN Star Purple hoverboard. In fairness, the UNI-SUN Star Purple might just be your best bet all-around as it also boasts one of the faster top speeds and the longest range we reviewed.
