We all know what size to buy when purchasing shoes or trousers, but what size do you buy for your hands? Most standard gloves are an adult âone size fits allâ so you would be forgiven in thinking that this standard sizing would apply to ski gloves also. However, due to the different materials used in ski gloves, sizing can be slightly more complicated.
Ski Gloves Size
To discover what size ski glove you will need, firstly measure the circumference around your hand. To measure this, wrap a tape measure around the flat of your palm, ensuring not to include your thumb. Next, locate the size of your hand circumference on the size chart below:
Ski Gloves Size Chart
Glove Size | Men (inches) | Women (inches) | Children (inches) |
XS | 5.5 – 6.5 | 5 – 5.5 | – |
S | 6.5 – 7.5 | 5.5 – 6.5 | 6 |
M | 7.5 – 8.5 | 6.5 – 7.5 | 6.5 |
L | 8.5 – 9.5 | 7.5 – 8.5 | 7 |
XL | 9.5 – 10.5 | 8.5 – 9.5 | 7.5 |
Along with measuring your hand circumference, there are other considerations when choosing the size of your ski gloves. For example, some people prefer a tighter fit whereas other people prefer a looser fit.
This is completely individual to your own preferences and perhaps something which you will only discover the answer to through trying on various sizes of ski gloves.
When choosing your size, be aware that you may have to choose a size bigger when using liners, but again this depends on your preferences and the make of your preferred ski gloves.
