Ultimate Snowboard Bag Guide

Last updated 16. January 2020

If you’re planning on going on a ski or snowboarding trip, it can’t be that long away, as the winter season is here. You know that you will have to trek all of your snowboarding gear through quite some journey, especially if you’re having to travel overseas, so you will want a bag that will not fail you at all, and it should be strong and sturdy. Plus, if you’re going to be using it on a daily basis for a good few years, you will want it to last some time and not just five minutes.

Not only this but sometimes an airline will charge you extra for taking your snowboard on board. Therefore it’s important if you don’t want to pay extra that you get a bag that will fit your snowboard and lots more in. Plus, it’s always important that you don’t damage any of your snowboarding equipment as well; otherwise, this could cost you unnecessary expense.

What type of snowboard bag should I get?

There are a whole variety of bags out there that range in sizes as well as prices. You can buy them anywhere whether it’s online or in a specific snow sports shop. You can also purchase a branded snowboarding bag as well, but it’s entirely up to you which type of bag you buy at the end of the day.

However, there are some things that you should consider, and if you are heading to the mountains that are overseas, then it’s always best to get a bag that has wheels. One bag in particular that is recommended by a lot of snowboarders is The Burton Big Wheelie Board Case. This is because this bag actually has a large amount of space, so you’re able to fit all of the equipment that you need, plus, all of your essentials as well. This means that there will be no need in you having to take two bags, as this bag has room for both.

Although, bags that have wheels do tend to be a lot more useful, mainly because you won’t have to carry them around, however, bags that don’t have wheels are also still as good.

How to pack a snowboard bag?

There are many ways that you can pack a snowboarding bag, but if you don’t pack it the correct way, then this is where you could land in a spot of bother because not everything will fit in.

The first thing you need to do is write a list of everything you need to take with you on your trip. This way you won’t find yourself adding extra things that you really don’t need. Once you’ve written the list, it’s important to lay everything you need out in front of you.

Before you pack anything, you should first put the snowboard inside the bag, so it is lying down and make sure your bindings are still attached to the board. These are the parts that start getting a little bit tactical, so with the socks and underwear that you’re planning to bring you should roll them up and place them inside your boots. This way you will save a lot of space.

Once you have done this place the boots together and put them at the end of the snowboard. The next step involves your helmet, but before you pack it place your goggles, gloves, and hat inside, so it saves space and works as protection at the same time.

Then you need to get all of your other items of clothing for snowboarding and place them around the bindings on the snowboard. You can do this by either rolling the clothing up or laying it very flat.

How long do snowboard bags last?

This is quite a tricky question to answer, as it really depends how much you use them and how you use them. Plus, it also depends on what brand you get as some do seem to last longer compared to others. One thing you should definitely check is if it comes with a warranty or not because if it does then if it does, unfortunately, break then you shouldn’t have a problem getting it fixed or replaced for free.
