Key Features

Even though motorized kids riding toys have been gaining popularity over the years, they are still relatively new to the market and not many people know about their features. Razor USA LLC released their first motorized scooter in the early 2000s because Gino Tsai, the president of the company that manufactured the Razor scooters, realized he couldn’t move around the factory as well as he could have when he was younger.

Since then, Razor USA LLC has developed dozens of other motorized ride on toys, like the Razor Dune Buggy. It’s the ideal form of entertainment for kids that want to have some fun around the neighborhood. Especially on hot, summery days when the weather is humid, the buggy ride on can be the best form of entertainment thanks to the breeze that it provides when you speed down the road with speeds up to 9mph. Looking for something a bit different with 2 wheels? Check out the Razor Ripstick Ripster caster board here.

Razor has released many motorized kids riding toys, and the Razor Dune Buggy is one that has grabbed the attention of both kids and parents worldwide. However, it can be hard to find specific information that will help parents decide if the toy is ideal for their kids or not, that’s why we decided to provide a list of features that the Dune Buggy offers!

Design & Additional Features

Razor dune buggy designOne of the greatest features of the Razor Dune Buggy is its electricity-powered design. This means that the kids riding toy doesn’t require any fuel to run, which is a big plus if you want your kids to stay 100% safe without polluting the environment.

The big, 8-inch pneumatic wheels will allow your child to speed around on both asphalt and grass, which is a huge pro if you live in an area that is surrounded by nature and forests. Razor’s power wheels are made of rubber and are meant to provide just enough friction to help the ride feel stable and controlled. All in all, Razor’s Dune Buggy is the perfect combination of safety, fun and entertainment.

The kids dune buggy also comes with a safety flag that is easily noticeable. This will ensure that the parents will be able to keep an eye on their little ones no matter where they are riding. The steering wheel also has very easy-to-use rear disc brakes that are very responsive.

Battery Life & Electric Design

Each motorized toy has a battery-charge limit, which means that the toy will only be able to be ridden for a certain amount of time before it will need to be recharged again. The Razor Dune Buggy can be ridden for up to 40 minutes before it needs to be plugged back in for a charge. The buggy has a 24V battery system that consists of two 12V batteries and is very easy to use.

The battery charger for Razor dune buggies comes with the bundle and is included in the price.

Charging with the Battery Charger

Since chain driven motor toys usually sit in cardboard boxes for months before they are purchased, it’s important to charge the buggy for a longer time than usual when you are plugging it in for the first time. All in all, it is recommended to charge the buggy for up to 18 hrs before taking it out for its first ride. This will ensure that the rechargeable battery is full and ready to use before its first adventure outside – without the need for video games.

Expenses & Bills

Since the kids dune buggy is electric battery powered, it’s important to take into consideration that it will need to be charged regularly. This means that your home electricity bills may go up by a significant amount since the buggy can only ride for 40 or so minutes on one charge.

You might need to have a talk with the kids about how often they can use the kids electric dune buggy go kart, and how often it should be charged. This, of course, all depends on the electricity company that you are affiliated with, that’s why it’s important to ask other parents who own similar ride on toys as to how their use impacted their monthly bills.

Age

The Razor Electric Dune Buggy is ideal for kids and teens over the age of 8 who want plenty of buggy thrills. However, many parents have stated that they have also given the buggy to much younger kids. Razor’s age ranges are very versatile and their products are very safe, that’s why many parents don’t hesitate to gift Razor’s electric scooters or buggies to kids as young as 5 years old. Kids a little older? Check out the Razor Crazy Cart review.

3-5 years old

Kid on razor dune buggyQuite a few parents in the review sections have names the dune buggy the ultimate toy for 2 year olds as long as they are heavily supervised during the ride. If you are planning on gifting this buggy to a much younger child, it’s important to put them on grassy areas when riding.

You can even let them ride around with a sibling, however, if you are intending on giving this buggy to children below the age of 5 (no younger than 3!) then it’s important to take safety precautions.

Many parents take their kids out onto big fields and let them ride around to their heart’s content there, since any fall or stumble won’t be dangerous thanks to the soft landing. The buggy also does great on grassy terrain following rear suspension, as well as slightly rocky roads, which makes it ideal for all-around neighborhood use.

Weight

The weight-limit of the dune buggy go kart is about 120lbs, which means that it probably isn’t ideal for older teenagers or adults. It’s definitely ideal for kids and teens below the age of 14. It’s also important to check the weight of your child before purchasing the buggy, since some kids develop quicker for 7-8 year olds and may need bigger buggies than is recommended for their age range by the company. Luckily, Razor USA LLC has a wider range of powerful 350watt electric motor toys that will suit just about any child.

One thing to consider is that the buggy doesn’t need any assembly, and the box that it arrives in might prove to be very heavy.

Speed

A kids Dune Buggy may seem like a menacing toy, however, it’s one of the safest Razor ride on toys on offer today. If you are not sure about whether you can trust your child with the speed of the buggy, you can rest assured.

The compact kids Dune Buggy maximum speed is fully adjustable and you can regulate it accordingly. You can regulate the speed thanks to the Allen wrench which will allow you to modify the hand throttle and brake controls. This will ensure that your child won’t be going any faster than they can handle, and kids under 5 years of age can stay safe even with supervision.

Safety

When talking about safety, it’s best to stay simple. You should supply your child with a good-quality helmet and possibly knee and elbow pads before putting them into the buggy. The offroad dune buggy has well-padded bucket seats and the kids can strap themselves in with a flexible yet reliable seat buckle that will keep them safe. The steel frame will help your child within the buggy at all times. Should they tip over, the durable tubular steel frame will protect the child sitting inside thanks to its durability and sturdy make.

Dune buggy electricIt’s also important to show your child how to safely use the buggy. The Razor Electric Dune Buggy will come with an instruction manual that will tell you how to use the buggy, how to charge it, how to take care of it and maintain it so that it can last as long as possible.

It’s vital to read all of the instructions and safety concerns before allowing your child to jump in and start riding! The Knobby tires and terrain following suspension give kids and teens plenty of buggy times ahead.

Pros:

+ Durable tubular steel frame

+ Knobby Pneumatic tires (8-inch front wheels and rear wheels)

+ Rides well on various terrains following rear suspension

+ Comes fully assembled

+ Bucket Seat Diamond Plate Floorboard

+ Powerful 350watt Electric Motor

+ Hand throttle and Brake controls (rear disc brake)

+ Rechargeable battery

Cons:

– Battery life may vary

Who Is It Suitable For?

The Kids Dune Buggy is ideal for any child over 6 years of age that wants to speed around the neighborhood and/or country roads. All in all, it’s the ideal toy for any enthusiastic child that wants to have some fun outside during the sunny days, avoiding video games!

Why We Like It

The Razor Electric Dune Buggy is the ideal addition to any child’s play routine. One of the things we like most about the Razor Dune is the fact that the parent can adjust the maximum speed (with speeds up to 9mph) that the child can go. This makes the Buggy ideal for both younger 8 year olds and young teens.

While looking through tons of different outdoor toys, we came across the Razor PowerWing Caster Scooter. This unique toy is perfect for doing all kinds of cool tricks that your kid is sure to love. With just a slight side-to-side ride motion, you propel the Razor Powerwing scooter forwards or side-to-side ride. The rear caster wheels on the backs sides allow a full range of motion. Forget about pedaling, the Power Wing launches you off into a world of fun! Read on for the product details.

Key Features Of The Razor PowerWing Caster Scooter

Power Wing Platform

The ergonomic base of the Power Wing cannot be passed up. Instead of constantly pedaling around as you would with a regular kick scooter or a skateboard, this platform allows you to propel yourself with the twist of your feet. The rear caster wheels help guide and direct you while making it much easier to accelerate due to their range of motion.

Most wheels either prevent this twisting propulsion, or they make it much, much more difficult since they’re usually bulky and heavy. These small caster wheels are small enough and light enough to allow you to twist back and forth rather quickly, thus making the cruise much easier. Easier cruising means more enjoyment, which is the whole point of these things!

On the outer edge of the platform, a triple-striped grip pad helps for traction and a smoother ride. Most competitors forget these foam grips to cut corners, but with this Razor scooter, you can expect nothing but the best. Having a solid area to place your feet while riding also dramatically reduces the chances of slipping or falling.

Durability

Another key safety feature on this razor scooter is the overall construction. Made with steel from the handlebars to the foot platform, there’s nothing brittle or fragile about it. While many other competitors stick with full plastic builds that crack under the heat of the sun, this Razor Powerwing scooter won’t fall apart.

The front wheel is made of hardened polyurethane, which prevents flat tires. Instead of using rubber filled with air that can pop or go flat, these tires aren’t able to be ruined. The rear wheels and caster tires can’t be popped either, making the durability of all three tires the best on the market.

The steel adjustable handlebars are covered with foam padding to provide a strong, comfortable grip. Instead of using simply metal as a grip (which causes calluses on your hands), the foam grips are comfortable and provide a cushion while riding around on the Power Wing.

Braking and Stability

Many regular kick scooters rely on your foot to stop acceleration. However, this can be a problem for many reasons. What if you’re riding barefoot? It wouldn’t be comfortable to brake then! Even breaking with shoes on can wear down the bottoms of your shoes very quickly. Think about rubbing the bottom of your shoe on the pavement while going that fast!

However, the Power Wing dual inclined caster scooter uses a hand brake system much like a bicycle’s braking system. Simply squeeze the brake (conveniently located directly in front of the foam-padded handlebars) and you’ll gradually slow down. Depending on how tightly you squeeze, you will slow down instantly or evenly.

Two removable stability bars on the back of the wing recreational scooter keep the rider aligned and on track. It might be tricky for some people to get the hang of riding one of these since they’re not too common. Think of the removable stability bars as training wheels until you’re ready to ride without them. Removal is easy and intended for anyone who feels comfortable enough to ride freely.

Weight and Size

Weight and size are always a huge factor in determining who a toy best suits. Luckily, the Razor PowerWing scooter for kids comes in at just 12 pounds, which is light enough for almost any rider. It’s very close to the same weight as a normal kick scooter.

The 32″ x 22″ x 34.5″ dimensions make it the perfect size for almost any kid. There’s not much of a height requirement since it’s below 3 feet tall. The only thing you need to make sure of is that your kid’s back feet can reach the outer foam grips on the platform while they hold onto the adjustable handlebars. Again, these smaller dimensions shouldn’t present any problems at all.

Pros

+ Foam-padded adjustable handlebars that keep your hands comfortable while also maintaining a strong, reliable grip

+ Unique platform design that allows you to move your body around by twisting their feet to propel forward

+ Convenient braking system similar to a bicycle to save your shoes and feet while making it very easy to slow down and stop

+ Strong, durable design made of high-quality steel and hardened polyurethane plastic to prevent breaking, cracking, and popping

+ Awesome three-wheel design

+ Multiple color choices of blue or sweet pea

Cons

– The flat design makes it a little more difficult to ride up and downhill since it relies solely on leg and foot power

– Hours and hours of strenuous riding on this dual inclined caster scooter might make the rider sore since it’s a constant exercise

Who is it Suitable For?

The Razor Power Wing is suitable for anyone looking for an alternative, unique style of playing outside. While bicycles, a recreational scooter or electric scooter, and skateboards are all perfect for outside activity, there’s so many of them already. If you want your kid to stand out and feel unique and cool, these 3-wheeled scooters are a great solution!

The twisting acceleration maneuver is a great exercise to keep your kid in shape. They say that one hour a day of outside play is the answer to growing up healthy and strong. Well, what’s a better way to get your kid outside than a Power Wing scooter?

With multiple colors and stabilizing features, these Razor Powerwing scooters are meant for kids of all ages. If you’re worried about your kid’s safety, the stabilizing bars will keep them out of harm’s way while they learn how to navigate their new toy.

Choosing between the two colors of blue or sweet pea gives you the option to suit your kid’s preferred selection.

Why We Like It

Finding unique gifts and toys for kids is no simple task. Everyone usually thinks of the same items every time, making it difficult to not buy the same thing. One of the worst results of gift shopping is buying someone something that they already own, everyone knows that! While searching for something unique and nearly unheard of, we came across the Razor Powerwing scooter for kids.

Since they’re so rare, the chances of you buying them one of these and them already having it is slim to none. Not to mention the fact that if they did own one of these, then we’re pretty sure you already know of it. Worst case scenario they now have two wing scooters, which isn’t too bad!

With all the indoor video game distractions, getting a kid outside to exercise is now one of the most challenging tasks around. They usually look at outdoor activities as a chore, and they just want to get back to the TV screen. However, with these awesome inventions, they’ll want nothing more than to get back outside playing around. As we said earlier, the goal is one hour outside of play a day, but with these things, they might far exceed that goal!

Alternative Product – Razor Ripstik Ripster

The Razor Power Wing is a scooter for kids, which most little ones love. However, for the kids that also love skateboards, or prefer them over scooters, another great option is the Razor Ripstik Ripster. It works the same way that the Power Wing does but in a skateboard form. They’re also a great way to learn how to skateboard since they’re always testing your balance.

Twisting back and forth on the Ripstik Ripster propels the rider forward or side-to-side ride depending on which way they lean. It does have a learning curve, but once your kid gets it down, they’ll love the experience. Not to mention that this super rare skateboard alternative will make them look way cooler, which we all know is a high priority at that age!

With the constant twisting and leaning back and forth, there’s no better way to strengthen your balance and even learn how to skateboard. After your kid learns how to hold themselves up on one of these Ripstiks, they’ll have no problem standing on a skateboard. That being said, getting them off of this and back on to a regular skateboard might be a challenge simply because they’re so fun to be on.

In the end, it’s all about finding the right toys to get your kids outside playing, exercising, and enjoying the fresh air just as we all did when we were younger. It’s time to put down the controllers and remotes and get back to the healthy, strengthening exercise that comes with outdoor adventures. The Ripstik and the Power Wing by Razor are both excellent solutions to get your kids outside playing and enjoying life the way it should be enjoyed when they’re young!

For other options from Razor, consider the Ground Force Drifter toy which helps in mastering sideways drifting! The Razor Pocket mod is also a fun choice for something a little tamer. The Razor A6 scooter is a more recreational scooter for those that know what they like. Razor also offers the MX500 Dirt Rocket electric motocross dirt bike – which we love. However, the Razor Dirt Quad is a popular choice due to having 4 wheels!

Lastly, we’d like to mention the amazing Razor Crazy Cart – another Razor product that includes fun sliding in the form of a drift. Razor products seem to be well known for helping little ones when mastering sideways drifting! Key Features

There’s all kinds of fun features that make this Razor trike a unique gift. With endless amounts of fun, you’ll never have to wonder if it was the right choice again. Let’s dive into some of the cool specs that help make this one of the best gift ideas around!

The Spark Feature

Probably the most unique feature that makes this dual inclined caster trike stand out from the rest is the spark feature. Have you ever seen those movies where people in cars drift around, creating sparks? Well that’s a whole lot more dangerous, but it sure makes for a nice scene! This spark trike incorporates that same style of a thrilling ride, minus the danger.

So how does the spark feature work? There’s a bar on the right side of the caster trike that you pull back to light them up. The sparks come out of a small mechanism on the left side of the trike, the spark bar with replaceable spark is completely covered and protected.

Replacement spark cartridges are cheap, and can be purchased once your current spark cartridge runs out. It’s absolutely safe, and absolutely one of the coolest gadgets for kids around! Why do they always come out with the coolest outdoor toys once we’re all grown up?

Drifts On Dual Inclined Caster Wheels

The dual inclined caster wheels on the Flash Rider 360 are purposefully tilted to provide an edge for excitement. Spinning, sparking, drifting, and flying sparks are all included and enhanced with these dual inclined caster wheels. The fact that the front wheel and back wheels are tilted helps the user pull spin and spark while going at high speeds without flipping over.

Most trikes come with tires that are parallel to the ground, making it hard to do all these fun tricks. However, this trike ride-on made it a whole lot easier to pull off some awesome stunts without causing any harm to the rider or the bike. We don’t want to sound repetitive, but throw some sparks into the mix and how cool is that?!

Fancy 4 wheels? Try these Kids 4-wheelers.

Welded Steel Frame

Okay so it has a spark bar, dual inclined caster wheels for drifting, and now a welded steel frame? Something’s got to give, right? Not with this awesome spark trike ride-on! The welded steel frame ensures ultimate safety at higher speeds to make sure nothing’s coming apart.

A lot of the cheaper competitors try to mimic the style of this caster trike ride-on, and while they get close, they never quite hit the same level of safety. There’s also some corners to cut, but with Razor you never have to worry about that. They know just as we do that your kid’s safety is of the utmost importance!

Other brands also have issues with pieces falling off or failing to work, but those errors are nearly unheard of with this model. Hundreds of excited customers point to the fact that this caster tricycle is a true tank when it comes to the steel framework.

Rubber Grip Handlebars

Instead of using the cheap foam handlebars like many other brands do, the Razor Flash Rider 360 uses durable rubber grips. Those old foam handlebars wear and tear under the pressure of constant use, and crumble down after a season of the sunshine and rain. However, the rubber grip handlebars and double crown fork design on this model are perfect for high-usage and are weather-proof.

The high-sitting angle of these rubber handlebars are perfect for the ergonomic seating. It makes it feel like you’re riding a motorcycle, and rests perfectly at the right angle. The hardened plastic seat sits at just the right angle to make the handlebars with rubber grips easily accessible for quick, comfortable steering.

Pros:
+ Unique spark cartridge or spark bar to make for an exciting experience while drifting around
+ Ultimate safety and comfortable provided by the steel frame and seating arrangement
+ Handlebars with rubber grips that don’t break apart like the cheaper foam models
+ Hardened plastic flat free tires that won’t pop under pressure or if punctured
+ Drifts on Dual inclined caster wheels & Flat free tire design
+ Double crown fork design

Cons:
– Only comes with one replaceable spark cartridge (lasts for plenty of uses), others can be bought separately
– Not recommended for users under the age of 6

Who is it Suitable For?

The Razor Flash Rider 360 is suitable for anyone above 6 years of age and between 17.5 to 160 pounds. That might be the age and weight limits, but honestly anyone in those parameters would have a blast on this caster tricycle! It’s a perfect birthday or christmas gift for any kid that loves adventure or action-packed movies. This caster trike ride-onimmerses them in the scene, giving them all the tools they need to make their own legendary stunts without risking any danger.

When you were young, everything was an adventure! Kids these days are no different, and they’re looking for thrilling fun around every corner. You’d probably rather have your child cruising around having a blast on one of these than climbing fences and jumping off of trees (or whatever other dangerous things kids do).

It’s a perfect fit to get all that pent up energy out, and let their creative imagination thrive. To a kid, this isn’t just a spark trike. It’s a motorcycle that shoots out flames so they can show it off to their friends! Everything is much more excited when we’re younger. If this caster tricycle seems cool to you, imagine how your kid will see it!

We’re not suggesting that you use it all the time, but if you’re within the usage parameters then it might not be a bad idea to take it for a spin and spark. We know we would! Don’t get too caught up in all the flying sparks and donut spinning sparking though, you might end up getting another caster trike!

Why We Liked It

Kids are so caught up with video games these days, so when we came across the ultimate outdoor toy, we knew it was a steal. Remember the days of adventure and thrills around every corner? Nobody can feel that empowering sense of fun through playing video games. It’s time to get kids back outside and enjoying everything there is to do.
We didn’t just like this spark trike, we loved it! With the strong pull from TVs and everything else that keeps kids glued to the screen, finding some time for outside play is becoming a serious challenge. Breathing the outside air and feeling true excitement is necessary in growing up, so we knew we had to find a solution.

Luckily, we stumbled upon the Razor Flash Rider 360, which has all kinds of customers raving about how their child can’t stay away from it. Instead of flashing lights and the same old games they play while stuck inside, they’re now blasting around the sidewalks on the coolest caster tricycle around!

Safety is a huge concern for parents, since all these new outdoor toys seem so dangerous. With safety being the highest point of our searches, we knew this caster tricycle was the one. The steel frame and the handlebars with rubber grips are unmatched by any competitors, protecting your kid from any possible injury. However, it’s important to remember that they always need to wear a helmet regardless of the built-in safety features.

All in all the Razor Flash Rider is the ultimate outside adventure toy for most kids these days. Whether it’s for cruising around the neighborhood to get to a friend’s house, or simply to do a couple tricks in the driveway, this trike is truly one of the coolest gift ideas for your kid! Your kids can spin and spark in the Razor FlashRider 360 caster trike – a great “spin” on a classic three-wheeler!

While the sparks are fun and safe, buying refills might become a chore to some. If you feel that your child would never use the cartridges, then it’s probably better to try out the Rip Rider 360. All the safety and durability features remain the same with this model. Literally the only difference is the lack of sparks! Ripping around the streets on this trike will make your kid feel like the coolest person on the block, with all kinds of outdoor activities to do and stories to tell about it. You’ll never hear the end of it! You can also try the Razor Powerwing caster scooter.

When the summer arrives, it’s hard to keep your child at home within the safety of the four walls. One way to help them enjoy the summer months could be by purchasing Razor’s E300s Electric Scooter. It’s a motorized scooter that will help your kids fulfill their need for maximum speed as they race down the roads with their friends. For an electric scooter for adults, see the Segway ES1 eScooter here.

Razor E300 Electric Scooter

Key Features

As toy companies advance, there are plenty of new toys available out on the market. The problem arises when you need to choose one, and you want to make it a surprise, too. They are hundreds of toys that you can buy for your child to use outside, from quads, to bikes, to cars, to scooters. It can be close to impossible to make a decision between all these options, but Razor managed to make something very unique and original: a motorized scooter. For something a little different, see our review on Razor’s dune buggy!

The Razor E300 Electric Scooter has a quiet engine, reliable acceleration control, a 24 volt motorized battery and can speed down the road at up to 15 miles per hour. That’s as fast as Razor’s dirt bike (see the Razor MX350 here), and provides a lot of thrill for any enthusiastic child, adult or teenager that likes spending time outdoors. Try out the Razor Ripstick caster board review if you prefer skateboards.

Since motorized scooters are quite a recent development on the scooter market, you may be left wondering what particular features they possess that makes them different from normal scooters. If you are curious about the differences between the two, don’t hesitate to read on!

Battery Life

The Razor E300 electric scooter has a 24-volt battery, and can be ridden for up to 45 minutes after battery charging. The charge time recommended for this Razor electric scooter is about 10-12 hours after each use. It’s not advised to leave this scooter overnight or have it charge for over 24 hours since that can do significant damage to the battery. It is also advised to charge the Razor electric scooter after every use, even if you end up riding for less than 45 minutes. This will ensure that the battery is constantly getting its dose of electricity and won’t start dying.

Battery Charging

One thing to consider is the amount of time you will need to charge this scooter for. 10 hours of charging may seem like too much if you allow your child to use it regularly. After all, everyone has their electricity bills and adding a scooter to the equation probably doesn’t help.

If you are worried about how this scooter will affect your monthly bills, we recommend seeking advice from parents who already own the scooter. Many parents say that the toy should only be used during dry days and that usually, they only allow their kids to use their scooter on the weekends or after school.

Many parents also report that the scooter tends to run way over 45 minutes of continuous riding after a good charge. It can speed through asphalt courts without a problem, and can easily glide up or down a hill. It’s definitely a good, sturdy, reliable toy that is worth the money if you want to give your child some extra entertainment during their outside adventures.

Age

The Razor E300 electric scooter is ideal for kids over 6 years old and can be ridden by both teens and adults alike. The manufacturer states that the product is target at teens and adults, however many parents have testified that younger kids can also easily reach the handlebars and stand on the wide deck.

All of the Razor electric scooters have generally versatile age ranges, and that’s why many parents feel safe testing out the products on their younger children. As long as there is a parent or sibling supervising the younger child, there should be no problem in letting the ride the new toy.

Weight

The scooter supports people that weigh up to 220lbs, which makes it one of the most versatile scooters out on the market today. It’s not often that Razor presents a product that can be used by all family members, but the Razor E300 Scooter can do exactly that. No matter if you have young kids, teenagers, young adults or seniors within your household, everyone can have a bit of fun with the 24-volt motorized ride-on scooter.

Age Limit

One thing to consider is to not allow kids younger than 6 to play with the scooter since it’s a rather heavy and giant toy that could easily fall down and crush them if they are not supervised. If you have kids that are above 6 years old that are mature enough to handle this scooter and are big enough to use it comfortably, then there is absolutely no reason as to why they shouldn’t do so!

Assembly Required

The product itself will arrive in a box that will weigh about 30 pounds.

It’s important to find a place to put your scooter before it arrives; it should be kept in a dry place where it won’t be affected by humid or damp weather conditions since those could damage the battery life and circuiting.

When selling older models, Razor USA used to include the tools that you need to use to help you assemble the scooter.

That, however, may not be the case with the most recent models, and that’s why we recommend checking if you have certain tools at home. Before you order the scooter, you should make sure that you have the following tools: a 5mm wrench, a 4mm wrench, a Phillips screwdriver, a valve extender and a bicycle-like tire pump. Having these tools will help you assemble the scooter within 10 minutes.

Storing

Upon the arrival of the scooter, you will find a manual within the box. Within the manual, you will find instructions that will help you assemble the scooter and instructions that will help inform you about any safety hazards and how you should go about using and storing your new purchase.

It’s very important that if you are buying the Razor E300 Scooter for a child, to make them aware of how they should take care of the scooter, what they can and can’t do and how they can stay safe when riding it. There are also instructions that specifically tell you how to properly take care not to kill the batteries, which should be thoroughly read by the parents.

Everyday Care

There are a few things you can do that will ensure the longevity of your new Razor E300 Scooter.

First of all, you should make sure that the scooter is turned off when you are not using it.

If you have it running when you are not moving along with it, you will kill the batteries much quicker.

You should also make sure that you don’t store your scooter in very low temperatures (garages are probably a bad idea) since that can also kill the battery.

You should also take care to not exhaust your scooter each time you ride; leave some battery charge before charging it again, this will ensure the battery life lasts longer.

If you feel like your scooter is not going as fast as it should, we also recommend loosening the rear brake tension with the hand operated rear brake, since that has happened to help many people drastically increase the maximum speed of their Razor electric scooters.

Additional Features

The deck of the E300 scooter is relatively wide and should allow any adult and teenager to comfortably stand on it when gliding. The frame of the scooter is also significantly bigger than it was on the previous line of scooters made by Razor USA. Its 10 inch extra wide pneumatic tires allow it to go up to a maximum speed of 15 miles per hour and the speed can be easily controlled by the break located at the front of the handlebars. There is also a retractable kickstand that allows you to stop anywhere, anytime, without having to lay your scooter on the floors, exposing it to damage.

The scooters battery system consists of two 12v sealed lead acid rechargeable batteries; these allow your Razor E300 Scooter to remain conspicuous when it speeds past houses and parks. Thanks to the quiet chain driven motor system you will be able to ride past your neighborhood without bothering your neighbors in the slightest. This scooter from Razor is ideal for trips to and from grocery stores, neighborhood errands or friend meet-ups or just evening glides in the breeze.

Pros

+ Perfect for adults & teenagers

+ Goes at 15 miles per hour

+ Larger deck

+ Wider Tires

+ Quick assembly

+ Retractable Kickstand

+ Rechargeable battery

+ Chain Driven Motor

Cons

– Doesn’t do very well going uphill

E200 Features

Every time summer arrives, companies release hundreds of new toys and merchandise. These are meant to help engage kids in outside play, whether it be by riding a bicycle, a scooter, or an electric power toy cart. Motorized toys are a great way to help engage your kids and their siblings in all-around play that will be a fun ride to watch by the whole family.

Razor E200 Electric Scooter

Since there are so many new toys being released nowadays, it can get a bit confusing trying to choose the best candidate for your kids.

The one thing that you can be sure of is that your child will be happy with the gift, but since motorized toys are still very new to the market, it can be hard to find information about their specific E200 features.

Some scooters look too menacing, others are meant for more daredevil children while others just don’t look appealing at all.

We know how hard it can be to find a reliable product, and how hard it can be to even find reliable information on something that you are not familiar with. That’s why we compiled a list of E200 features that will help give you a well-rounded view of the Razor E200 scooter, and Razor electric scooters in general!

Battery Life

Every kids or adults motorized scooter has a battery life, and depending on the motor, the battery life will be different for each scooter. The Razor E200 scooter in particular has a battery life of 40 minutes, but if it’s well taken-care of you will be able to ride it for over an hour every time you charge it. Some customers even report that their kids speed around on the scooter for 4 hrs+, however that may be because of the light weight of the child.

Most companies state the overall limit of the charge to avoid complaints, however most motorized scooters can last much longer on a single charge, depending on who the rider is, what the climate is and how well the scooter is taken care of. It’s important to note that the scooter does get progressively slower as it reaches the end of its charge life.

Charging Time & Battery Charger

The initial charging time of the E200 scooter should be about 12 hrs. It’s extremely important to not keep the scooter plugged in for more than 24 hours, since that can significantly damage and weaken the 12v sealed lead acid battery.

If you charge the scooter for over a day without a break it can lead to very quick failures in the system due to the consistent flow of energy. It’s also recommended to not ride the scooter till it’s completely out of battery and then charge it.

It’s important to let your child ride for a specific amount of time, and then plug the scooter in before its 12v sealed lead acid battery is completely exhausted.

Expenses

Another thing to take into consideration when buying a motorized scooter, or a motorized toy in general, are the expenses. Since motorized toys require a lot of charging, they can take a significant toll on your electricity bills if your child ends up loving the toy. It’s important to research the pros and cons of such Razor electric scooters electricity-wise, and how they changed the electricity bills of parents that have already owned them and had children that regularly used them.

Age

Kids riding razor e200 scooterThe Razor E200 electric scooter is ideal for kids over the age of 13, however, like with most Razor toys, the age here is very arbitrary. Many parents buy this scooter for kids aged 9+, since they have taller kids that can already reach the handlebars without a problem. Even if you are not sure if you should purchase this scooter for your younger kids, even if it ends up being too big you can wait till they grow into it! Luckily, Razor also provides their customers with detailed descriptions of the dimensions of their products, so you can easily measure your child and judge the differences if needed. Try the Razor Ripstik caster board for kids as an alternative.

Weight

Depending on how much the rider weighs, the Razor E200 electric scooter can go much faster than the 12mph that is stated in the description data. If your child is light, the scooter can reach speeds that go up 20mph at its fastest, with the average being 15pmh. It’s important to also decide whether your child has enough balance and maturity to start riding a motorized scooter, since they require a lot of control, especially during the learning stages.

Instruction Manual & Learning Curve

The weight limit of these E200 Razor Scooters is 165lbs, which means that even the parents can give riding a go. This is particularly useful if you want to show your child how to use the Razor E200 electric scooter before they get on it. By demonstrating , you can show them the E200 features and how to stay safe. That’s also why we recommend reading through the instruction manual with your child before allowing them onto the Razor E200 electric scooter.

For example, you will need to let go off the gas handle if you want to brake. If you are using the gas and rear brake handles at the same time the scooter won’t stop. This information could save a lot of injuries along the way, that’s why we have to recommend to read the instruction manual prior to using the scooter.

Assembly

The Razor scooter does require some assembly, however it’s relatively minimal and should be a fun exercise to do with the kids.

Most parents state that the scooter doesn’t take more than 30 minutes to put together, and it should give a nice jolt of accomplishment to the kids when they see their new favorite toy slowly assembled thanks to their efforts.

Kick-Off Feature

The E200 Razor scooter does not need a kick-off like its predecessors (the Razor E100 electric scooter and the E150). It has an automatic start which means that your child can just jump on it and go, no kicking needed! This Razor scooter model also weighs less than its sister models (only 35-45 pounds). The lightweight feature is great if you are looking for a portable scooter that you can take to the park, to camping trips or on holidays close to home.

Terrain

The Razor E200 series scooter also works great on grass and dirt roads, which is perfect for kids who live near country roads, farms and fields and don’t have many gravel roads to have a fun ride on. All in all, the E200 scooter is a very versatile motorized scooter that your child will be able to ride almost anywhere. The Razor E200 electric scooter will, of course, slow down when it’s riding through grass, but on asphalt it can definitely go up to 19+ mph with a light rider.

Safety

Boy riding E200 electric scooter by razor
Like we stated before, the E200 scooter is a very powerful scooter, and it’s important to first allow the child to learn to balance on the deck before starting to ride.

The deck itself is relatively wide, which should make the the balancing much easier.

The dimensions of the Razor E200 electric scooter are 37.7 x 16.8 x 40.9 inches, which makes for a wide, perfectly-size scooter that has easy-to-reach handlebars.

The E200 scooter can also come in three bundles: a bundle with just the scooter, a bundle with the scooter and a helmet, and a bundle with a scooter, helmet and pads. For parents looking for 4-wheelers – check out the Razor Dune Buggy here. Or for older kids, see the Razor Dirt Quad for hours of fun!

These additional accessories don’t add much to the price, and you will save yourself the pain of having to go out and separately look for pads and helmets that are surely more expensive when bought from individual buyers.

Pros:
+ Maximum speed of 20mph
+ Comes in bundles with safety gear
+ 40 min and above battery life
or run time (12v sealed lead acid)
+ 12hr charging time
+ Rides well on various terrains
+ Fullsize deck and frame (steel frame)
+ Pneumatic tires
+ Hand operated rear brake

Cons
:
– Battery life may deteriorate over time

Who Is It Suitable For?

The E200 scooter is ideal for kids above 13 years of age due to the powerful chain driven motor and fast speeds of the scooter. However, if your child is particularly tall and/or mature for their age and seems to handle the balancing and steering of the scooter well, then there shouldn’t be a problem in allowing them to have a fun ride! It can be useful to first try a scooter out at the mall or from neighborhood friends, to make sure that your child likes the product and fits well with the dimensions.

Why We Like It

The Razor E200 has a wide, comfortable full-size deck and frame that helps the children feel secure when they are riding at high speeds. One of the things we like about the E200 scooter, in particular, is the maximum speed limit, that can go up to 20mph on an asphalt road. We also like the safety accessories that come with the E200 bundles, like the helmet, knee and elbows pads etc. which will help keep the kids safe, should they stumble or fall.

Key Features

As your kids grow up, it can get increasingly harder to keep their play limited to household-only activities. Your child may be growing bored, and you may find yourself wondering what kind of entertainment you can provide for them that doesn’t rob your budget. It has to be safe, engaging and fun. One of the products that fit all those categories is the Razor Dirt Quad riding toy.

As your child grows, they will be eager to explore the outside world, whether that is on foot or on wheels. Giving them a taste of the thrills that a dirt quad riding toy can provide is invaluable and can encourage them to be more independent, seeking adventure in unusual places.

Some parents may be wary of dirt quads, after all, they do look quite menacing and are often associated with dangerous races or daredevil acts. Luckily, the Razor Dirt Quad riding toy is meant for kids and has features that suit kids, too. With the fresh black styling and design, and the secure hand operated rear brake, the smooth ride, this dirt quad is built strong and sturdy. Check out this caster board by Razor for an alternative.

If you are interested in getting to know the components that a Razor dirt bike is made out of, we have you covered!

Battery Life

The Razor Dirt Quad riding toy is powered by a 24V battery system. It consists of two 12V batteries and has to be charged for 12 hours after every use. It can offer up to 1 hour of outside fun after charging, which is just enough time to explore and have fun on the fields and roads outside. Interested in battery-powered toys? Check out the top electric scooters for kids here.

Charging

One thing to take into consideration is the charging time. 12 hours of charging can be a lot for a home that is watching their electricity bills. It’s important to take this factor into consideration since the quad only runs for one hour after charging. This means that you will have to charge it daily if your child will want to ride the toy daily, which is a huge possibility if they end up enjoying the quad. This, in turn, means that your electricity bills may significantly rise after purchasing the product.

If you have a good electricity plan this shouldn’t be a problem. If you find yourself worried about the expenses this quad may come with, we recommend asking a few people who already own the quad about the perks of keeping it. If your child uses the toy only during the weekends or during sunny days the expenses should stay at a minimum.

Age

Age for Razor Dirt QuadThe Razor Dirt Quad is ideal for kids above 8 years of age, since the quad can go pretty fast and needs a lot of coordination while steering. You should make sure that your child gets used to the quad when it’s not powered up.

Getting out the manual and quickly running through the safety instructions and the features of the quad should help the child get to know their new toy better before jumping into the driving. This way, they’ll know where to brake, how to steer and how to have good posture when driving.

If you will be taking them to the park to drive around, it’s also important to introduce them to basic driver manners and how they should interact with pedestrians when they cross their path.

4-6 year olds

The quad itself can also be used by younger children if they are tall and mature enough to handle and steer the toy on their own. Several parents have reported that their 6-7 year olds also fit fine on the quad and don’t have any trouble driving, racing, changing direction and having fun. Several parents have stated that they quad is ideal for their 4 year olds, too, as long as they are heavily supervised when using the quad. The quad supports any child that weighs up to 120lbs and as long as your child fits the dimensions and the maximum weight limit, they should be able to keep using the quad for a long time.

Adjustability

Many kids don’t like parting with their favorite toys, especially if the toys have accompanied them through many childhood memories. Luckily, the Razor Dirt Quad bike has adjustable handlebars that you can adjust to your child’s growing height. If they start using the quad at 6 years old, they can easily keep using it till they’re 12, and if they have siblings they can easily pass it on.

Safety

The Razor Dirt Quad ride on can look like a daredevil toy that only the teenager neighborhood kids would be allowed to use, however that couldn’t be further from the truth.Even though the quad looks sporty and menacing thanks to its stylish design, it’s relatively harmless.

The Razor 24volt Electric Dirt Quad ride on can only go at 10mph, which may seem slow, however it’s definitely faster than any parent can walk and is fast enough for your kids to get the adrenaline thrill. It’s not fast enough, however, for your kids to get thrown off! All parents who have had their kids use the quad do recommend putting a helmet on your child before putting them on the quad, since riding on wet or mountainous terrain can be challenge.

Brakes & Wheels

If your child feels like they are going too fast, they can always use the hand operated brakes to pause and take a breather. This feature is ideal for those times when you get an unexpected pedestrian or animal running out in front. The quad also comes with semi-professional wheels that will endure wet weather, bumpy roads, muddy grass patches and much more. There’s not much that this little quad can’t handle, and is ideal for any adventurous boy or girl.

Dimensions & Additional Features

Dirt quad dimensionsThe Razor Dirt Quad bike has dimensions of 43”L x 24”W x 31.5”H and needs to be assembled. The quad bike itself weighs about 89 lbs, and the box it comes in is rather large, weighing over 110 pounds. It’s important to know that you have a place to put the quad before purchasing it. It should be kept within a dry area that doesn’t have any droughts or damp surroundings. This will ensure that the quad doesn’t get rusty and that the battery doesn’t get damaged.

The assembly of the Razor Electrical Quad is rather easy and comes with an instruction manual. Many customers state that the assembly shouldn’t take more than 10-30 minutes, depending on how well you organize the parts of the quad before putting it together. The product comes with a battery charger and needs 12-15 hours of charging the first time you turn it on.

The plastic fairings are fully shatter-resistant and the frame is fully powder coated to help the quad endure tough weather conditions too. This ensures that the paint and design won’t fade away as your child keeps using their new favorite toy. The Razor Electric Dirt Quad is meant to be used on rough terrain and easily manages to ride over small obstacles that are common around forested areas and fields.

Pros:

+ 60 min+ battery life with Battery Charger

+ Adjustable handlebars

+ Weather resistant

+ Easy assembly

+ Powder Coated

+ Plastic Fairings

Cons

– Doesn’t have a reverse feature

Who Is It Suitable For?

The Razor Electric Dirt Quad ride on/ quad bike is ideal for kids from 6-12 years old. Some parents have put kids as young as 3 1/2 on this quad, however that should only be done if you are ready to heavily supervise your child as they ride. Many parents who decide to put much younger kids on the quad put an older sibling in the front, since older children usually have better controls of the handlebars and brakes.

Why We Like It

The Razor 24volt Electric Dirt Quad ride on is ideal for kids of various ages, and does extremely well on rough terrains, just like a quad should. It has a battery life of over one hour and can go pretty fast for 24V battery-powered vehicle. 10mph may seem like little top speed to an adult, but it’s definitely faster than any parent is willing to run for longer periods of time!

All in all, the Razor 24volt Electric Dirt Bike is ideal for kids who want to have fun outside, exploring surroundings and having unlimited amounts of fun. The Razor Dirt Quad Bike is a top seller in this game.

Key Features

Make each of these products sound like the best product ever. As if you are a kid again reading this thinking, man I really want one of those now! That’s what we are aiming for with all of this copy throughout the site.

Sometimes, kids can get bored with bicycles, skateboards and scooters for outdoor play. For skateboard lovers, the Ripstick Ripster caster board by Razor is a great choice. If you are at a loss as to what to do to keep your child entertained, we might just have a great solution. The Crazy Cart Shift toy from Razor is a great source of fun for all young kids that want to be a bit more adventurous in their outside excursions. Powered riding toys are changing the game of outdoor play, read on to find out why…

The Razor Crazy Kart shift toy can be used as a fun toy to race with friends, or as a source of transport to get to school, shops or friends’ houses. Regardless of how your child will end up using this ride-on toy, it’s a fantastic new addition to any child’s outdoor play schedule. The Razor Crazy Kart is smooth, fast, safe and fun. Razor have also created an electric motorcross bike – see the Razor MX650 review here.

Rechargeable Battery & Battery Life

Razor deluxe crazy cartThe Razor Crazy Cart shifter is an ideal new source of fun for any child over 9 years old and has a battery life that lasts up to 40 minutes. This means a full 40 minutes of pure, uninterrupted outdoor play and fun! While this may seem like too little for some enthusiastic and eager kids, it’s definitely plenty of time to get dizzy with riding toys. Steering the Razor Crazy Cart shift outdoor toys can require quite some power since you will be expected to turn your whole weight within the vehicle using the steering wheel. 40 minutes of uninterrupted fun can definitely be more than enough if you don’t want to get too dizzy.

The cart itself uses a 24-volt sealed rechargeable battery that you can plug right into a wall.

Charging

As for charging, you will need to charge the Crazy Razor Cart for 12 hours after every use. People who don’t want to increase their electricity bills should take this into consideration. 12 hrs of charging is a very long time, and may not be ideal for many households, especially if the cart needs to be regularly charged after daily use. Luckily, the Razor cart can only be used during dry, warm days where there isn’t any snow, wet asphalt or rain in general.

This means that depending on where you live and what your weather conditions are, your child will only be able to use the cart during certain seasons and months. This significantly reduces the electricity costs, especially if your child doesn’t ride the cart around the house.

Improvements

Before the Crazy Cart from Razor was released, they had released several other carts meant for children. During their production years, they have received a lot of praise and a lot of critiques. This is where Razor differs from many other companies- they take the critique and improve their products.

The changes that were made to make the Crazy Cart as efficient and as fun as it includes a wider rear wheel base that helps your child drive and drift spin much easier. The more stable the cart, the safer the ride, and Razor’s end goal is to make their products as safe as possible. Other improvements include an extended seat, so that children can truly fit into the cart without being scrunched up.

Improved Casters

There are also new, stabilizing casters that don’t wear out as fast as the casters that have been used in the previous 2013 model. This has been a topic that has been very debated in the review section on Amazon, and that’s why Razor decided to move forward and do something about it. The 2016 Razor Crazy Cart shift model has definitely improved their caster wheels, however, it’s highly recommended to teach your child to operate the cart properly to avoid any future damage.

Improved Razor Crazy CartAnother improvement for the Razor Go Kart is the improved steering mechanism. Now, your child will be able to steer the cart way more accurately than before, providing them with a very responsive driving experience. No matter where your child will be going, they will be able to turn, swerve and reverse with the Razor Go Kart within seconds.

With this new addition, a feature has been removed too: the accelerator cut off switch was removed. Many customers have been disappointed with this feature, since it was troublesome and hard to use. A lot of people are glad to have seen this feature removed, which makes gliding and easier much easier.

Drive and Drift System

One of the most sought-after features that has been welcomed with Razor’s Crazy Cart kids ride on toy is their new top rated drift system. The steering wheel system allows for 360-degree turns, which allows for easy turns and swerves. This means that you will be able to spin drift and turn wherever you want to go. The drifter system allows you to float around on your cart whenever you turn around a corner. How do you float on the Razor Cart? All you have to do is speed up with the variable speed option, pull the drive and drift bar and spin the wheel in the direction you want to go. The top-rated drift system is definitely the trademark of the Crazy Cart, since the system allows you to float, feeling like you’re drifting on air.

Age

Suitable age for crazy cartThe Razor Go Kart is definitely a product meant for kids; the specifications on Razor’s website state that it’s ideal for kids 9 years and older.

However, if you have particularly tall 8 year olds that can also fit into the seat and can strap themselves in safely, there is no reason that they shouldn’t join in the fun.

Another thing to consider is children below 5 years old shouldn’t be let near the drift cart since it’s likely that they could only get injured.

The controls require a lot of coordination and the ability to distribute your balance when turning. We recommend keeping this cart far away from any kids that are under 5 years old, and only letting the older kids ride. The cart can also take up to 140lbs of weight. This means that if you have older kids (or even parents!) that fit the weight limit and the general size dimensions allowed by the cart, then they can also take it out for a ride around the neighborhood.

Safety

While the Razor Crazy Cart may seem like a daredevil fun toy just by its name alone, but this rideon toy has plenty of implemented safety features that help keep your child safe during the ride. One of the key safety features include an adjustable belt strap that will keep your child safe and buckled within the seat. With this belt, you can be rest assured that your boy or girl won’t fall out or tip out of the cart when they’re having fun.

Speaking of tipping, the cart comes with a pair of anti-tip caster wheels. The cart also has a 55-pound frame that will ensure that all tips and falls remain under control. As long as your child is within the weight-limit, the 55-pound cart should manage to keep your child well balanced during their ride.

Variable Speed

Speed of crazy cartAs for speed, your child will be able to quickly stop their ride thanks to the foot-operated acceleration variable speed as well as the drift bar that is located at the rear end of the cart. Using these two features together will give you a very smooth stop, instead of a jerky brake that makes you jolt every time you want to pause your vehicle.

The cart itself is able to go up to 12mph, which is the ideal speed for the ride to remain safe, but fun too. Thanks to the 12mph speed limit your child won’t be able to get seriously injured, but will be able to keep them entertained at the same time.

Pros:

+ 40-minute battery life

+ Patented drifter system

+ Goes at 12mph

+ 90-day-warranty

Cons:

– May induce motion sickness in some children

Who Is It Suitable For?

The Razor Crazy Cart electric ride on toy is ideal for kids over the age of 9 years old. Some kids younger, maybe 7 or 8 years old may also fit within the cart. This, however, is rarely recommended since younger children will not have as much balance and as much coordination as older kids do

Why We Like It

With the Razor Crazy Cart your child will be able to drift, float and swerve for 40 minutes straight, enjoying all the possibilities of a drift system. We like it thanks to its safety features and all the improvements that Razor introduced when it decided to improve its 2013 Razor Crazy Cart model.

As soon as the summer months arrive, kids start asking about new bicycles and new skateboards. However, there are electric alternatives to those now, and they are well sought-after by both parents and kids. That’s why we would like to introduce Razor’s Electric Motocross Bike, which is a compact, authentic, chain-driven bike for kids over 16 years of age. For younger children, the Razor MX350 electric dirt bike is more suitable. However, for four wheels: try the Razor Dune Buggy.

Key Features

Electric skateboards, kids dirt bikes, kick scooters (check out razor electric scooters), cars and carts (check out the Razor crazy cart review) are usually products that are reserved for the youngest kids, kids aged between 7-12 years of age. Razor knows that older teens like to have fun too, especially on daredevil-looking toys like the Electric Motocross Bike. The older the kids get, the more they can get sucked in to the world of the internet and forget about the beautiful nature of the outside world.

Razor is aware of this, and that’s why they made a bike that looks attractive and menacing, to help attract older kids. It’s no secret that most parents want to get their teens out of the house during the summer break when they’re sitting home. Purchasing the Electric Motocross Bike can help with that; not only is it extremely fun to ride, but it can be a great neighborhood toy to share with other kids and attract them to play, too. Razor have also created a durt quad bike!

Since we know that electric bikes for kids are a relatively new thing, we decided to list and discuss all of their features. From battery life, to safety, to speed limits and charging. If you are interested in finding out more about these Razor MX650 Dirt Bikes, read on! Looking for something different? Razor have brought out a skateboard, the Razor Ripstick Ripster!

Battery Life

Razor MX650 dirt bike battery lifeRazor’s Dirt Rocket Electric Motocross Bike has a battery unlike many Razor products. Usually, the electric dirt bikes and electric scooters for younger kids have a 24-volt battery pack and need to be charged for 14-15 hours before each ride. The Dirt Rocket Motocross Bike has a 36-volt battery pack, can run up to 1 hour (10 miles) on a single charge and has to be charged for only 8 hrs before each ride. This means that you won’t have to worry as much about your electricity bills.

If your child generally spends up to 8 hours or more on their laptop or in front of a TV, those 8 hrs of electricity will just go to charging the bike. This way, you can teach your child to be more responsible and practical. They will learn how to be efficient, and their reward can be riding their precious new electric bike. The 8 hrs of charge can also help train your kids in patience since that’s a common problem with kids it’s important to try and deal with it early on.

Charging with Battery Charger

Even though with common use the Dirt Rocket only requires 8 hrs of charge, it’s important to give it a big, long, initial charge. We recommend for the first charge to be around 12 hrs, since the bike will undoubtedly need a big kick of power after being locked and packed up in a box in a storage space all this time.

It might also be a good idea to take out the battery and charge it before your child notices the bike arrived if the motocross is supposed to be a present. This will spare a wave of disappointment when the child will learn that they will need to wait a day to even use their new gift!

With all of this said, with regular use the 8 hrs of charge may take a toll on the electricity bills. It’s important to take that into consideration before purchasing the Razor MX650 Dirt Rocket. It can also be a good idea to ask other parents who own similar toys about the changes they noticed in their bills after buying and regularly using the toy.

Age

Age for riding Razor MX650 electric dirt bikeGenerally, this Razor MX640 Dirt Rocket is meant for older children. The original website description of the product states that the dirt bike would be ideal for kids over 16 years of age. However, anyone who has owned a Razor product before, or has even heard of their merchandise, knows that their products are versatile. For example, there are plenty of kids that are very tall for their age.

Despite the 16+ guidelines, many parents allow kids as young as 10 to ride this dirt bike. It’s ideal for any child above 10 years of age that is responsible enough to stay safe and responsible while riding.

Most of Razor’s guidelines are centered around the maturity of the rider and their ability to control the dirt bike. 10 year olds may have trouble staying safe on such a powerful vehicle. However, as long as they are supervised and know the instructions of how to use the MX650 dirt bike, they should be able to use it for 6+ years after receiving it. Hopefully, they will also be able to pass it on to younger siblings when they get too big for it, even though adults can still fit pretty well on the seat!

Age Limit

We don’t recommend giving this Razor dirt bike to kids below the age of 10. Kids under 10 should have less powerful kids bikes, such as ones with a 24-volt battery. The Motocross Bike has a 36-volt battery with a control module which makes it significantly more powerful and controlling it may be an issue for younger kids.

Key Bike Features

Features of the Razor MX650 dirt rocketThe electric dirt bike is powered by a 650-watt battery and can carry itself to speeds that can go way above 17mph, sometimes reaching up to 25mph. The speed can always be customized by tinkering with the bike, and this may have the kids take interested in engineering as they get older and want to manually try and increase the variable speed of the bike.

The regular 17-25mph variable speed provided with this Razor MX650 dirt rocket means that it’s nearly twice as fast as the regular electric vehicles that are meant for younger kids. Once again this reinforces the idea that only kids above 10 should try riding this MX650 dirt rocket.

The riser handlebars will provide the teen with a grip that will feel comfortable and well-balanced. The bike itself runs quietly, which is something that the neighbors will undoubtedly thank you for.

Safety

Razor’s dirt bike is 100% safe if it is used properly. We recommend buying your child a youth helmet and perhaps knee pads and elbow pads. This will ensure that they will stay safe when riding should any accidents occur. The MX650 dirt bike will come with a manual, and it’s important to read it through with the child before they get onto their new prized possession. This will ensure that they will be aware of any dangers and how they should operate the bike when they are outside having fun.

Design & Accessories

Razor MX650 dirt bike designThe design of the Razor MX650 Dirt Rocket is inspired by supercross motorbikes and the steel construction will help keep your teen safe and stable when riding. The large 16 inch pneumatic back and front wheel allow for quick, solid riding that will help them speed through various terrains and neighborhoods.

The riser handlebars are of course adjustable and the bike also has folding metal foot pegs as well as hand-operated dual disc brakes. The brakes are exceptionally sensitive and will pause the bike any time they will be pressed. The bike itself may also require some wheel assembly, but it shouldn’t take more than half an hour.

It can also take up to 220 pounds of weight and has a kickstand that you can use when you will want to stop in unusual places where there won’t be anywhere to lean your bike.

The Razor MX650 Dirt Rocket Electric Motocross bike also generates more power when you are going uphill, to make sure that you get wherever you want to go without having to get off. The same is with going through rough terrain; the dirt rocket does extremely well on grassy, muddy and dirt road areas.

Pros:

+ Ideal for teens

+ Goes 17-25mph

+ Sturdy steel frame

+ Pneumatic Tires

+ Goes through rough terrain

+ Dual Disc Brakes with Brake Levers & Brake Pad set

+ Dual suspension

+ Folding metal food pegs

Cons

– May need an extended warranty

Who Is It Suitable For?

The Razor Dirt Rocket MX650 is ideal for all kids above 16 years of age. This is due to the 16+ age recommendation, although we have seen parents of 10 year olds purchase these kids bikes for their little ones.

Key Features

Buying a new toy for your child can be tough; there are so many options available out on the market today that it can be hard to settle on just one choice. There are hundreds of electronically powered scooters, motorcycles, cars and boards to choose from. Since the electronic-toy industry is still relatively new, it can also be hard to see the pros and benefits of these toys. Looking for something with four wheels first? Check out our review of Razor’s Dune Buggy! You can also try the Razor Dirt Quad as an alternative.

One thing we can testify to is that hundreds of parents have not yet been disappointed by their child’s reaction when they purchased them an electric motorbike. It’s the dream of many kids to speed down roads, both on grass and on gravel, at high speeds, use the variable speed of the MX350 electric. The closest they can get to this experience as a child is, of course, by having their own electric motocross bike. Control the throttle with the twist grip throttle control module and hand operated rear brake.

Since it can be hard to find information about the benefits of such toys, we decided to compile a quick review of Razor’s MX350 Dirt Rocket Electric Motocross Bike. We will list its features; its good and bad sides and how having an electric toy at home may or may not affect your bills! Alternatively, you can always go for the traditional bicycle, or balance bikes for kids.

Design

Razor MX350 electric dirt bike designThe Razor MX350 Motocross Bike was designed after professional, modern electric dirt bikes for kids and looks the part, too. If you decide to invest in the Dirt Rocket Electric Bike you won’t be disappointed with its appeal, and how closely it resembles the motocross bikes for kids that are regularly ridden during contests.

If your child is as enthusiastic about the bike as they are about the sport itself, then this will definitely be a fantastic purchase.

Razor’s goal is to provide its customers with the best riding experience, but to do that they have to know how to get a reaction from their targeted audience. The big, chunky wheels and well-molded seat will make your child want to jump on immediately, and live out their off-road journey here. From the get-go it’s easy to see that the bike is made from high-quality materials, and that the paint and patterns applied are there to stay. With a twist grip throttle control, chain driven motor, and hand operated rear brake, adjustable riser handlebars with handlebar grips and a handlebar clamp; this amazing electric bike delivers.

Color & Appeal

The bike only comes in a lively blue color, but it definitely makes up for this limited choice with the daring thunderbolt patterns that are placed on both sides of the bike. On rare occasions, you can find the Razor MX350 Dirt Rocket Electric Bike in yellow, black and pink color variations, but those are usually sold in individual retailers or on Razor’s official website.

It’s easy to see that Razor put a lot of thought into designing the Razor MX350 Dirt Rocket Electric Motor Bike. There’s no question that your little one will have tons of fun exploring their new, professional-looking bike if you decide to purchase the toy.

Age Suitability

Boy riding Razor MX350 dirt rocket bikeThere is a lot of confusion regarding how old your child should be when you allow them to ride the Razor MX350 Dirt Rocket. Razor states that the bike (MX350 version) is ideal for 13 year olds, but that simply isn’t the case.

In 90% of the scenarios that we’ve researched and sifted through, this bike seems to be more ideal for 5-7 year olds. That is quite an age jump, and we will explain the specifics of the bike now so that you can decide whether it will fit your child in particular.

Dimensions

The bike has dimensions of about 44 x 24.5 x 31 inches and can carry up to 140 pounds, which means that usually, it’s way too small for 13 year olds. As we researched further, we noticed that even 9-year olds looked cramped on the Razor MX350 Dirt Rocket.

Ideally, the kids that fit best on Razor’s MX350 Dirt Bike are between 5-7 years of age. It’s definitely better to buy it for younger kids and have it grow with them, since they will find it difficult to maneuver it, as they get older.

Electric Power Battery

Like with all electronic toys, the Razor MX350 Dirt Rocket electric motocross bike comes with a 24V battery that consists of two 12V batteries. It has a 12v sealed lead acid rechargeable system, which means that you will need to charge the bike regularly. The initial charge after you first take it out of the box will have to last at least 12 hours, since it will be the bike’s first introduction to electricity.

If you are planning on gifting the Dirt Rocket to your child, then it’s vital to know that the MX350 version doesn’t come pre-charged. If you want your child to be able to ride on it right after they take it out of the box, then you should charge it the night before so that they can immediately ride it when they open it.

Charging via the Charger Port & Battery Charger

Razor MX350 twist grip throttle controlWith one 10-12 hr. charge the pocket bike can complete up to 30-60 minutes of continuous riding, but this heavily depends on the weight of the rider and has a max weight capacity. The lighter the rider, the faster the bike will go, and the faster it can run out of battery. For a more stable ride, you can try Razor’s pocket mod (betty).

On a general basis, the bike can go up to 14 miles per hour, depending on the terrain. Simply plug into the charger port for recharging.

Most kids love the Razor MX350 Dirt Rocket thanks to its ability to speed past fields, grass and dirt roads as well as normal pavements and gravel. It’s definitely a very versatile motocross bike and will be able to carry your child anywhere they want, as fast as they want.

Electricity

One more thing to take into consideration is the fact that the bike will need to be charged each time it runs out of battery. Strictly speaking, this may affect your electricity bills, depending on how often your child will be using the bike. 12 hrs. Of charging each day or each other day may sound like too much when the pocket bike rides for only 1 hour, but usually this isn’t very expensive with a good electricity plan.

Additional Features

The bike is covered with a 90-day warranty, but it’s non-returnable after the 90-days expire. Most customers are very happy with this deal, since even in the rare case that someone may get a faulty product, they can immediately get it exchanged to get a working product instead.

Kickstand

Razor MX350 dirt rocket kickstandThe bike itself has a sturdy, steel frame construction that enables your child to have a stable ride, no matter what kind of terrain they find themselves on.

The retractable kickstand is a perfect addition for those times when you need to take a break, but don’t have anywhere to put your bike.

Razor knows that putting a new prized possession on the floor can be sacrilege, and that’s why they decided to equip the bike with a sturdy, reliable kickstand that you can use anywhere.

Assembly

The Razor MX350 Dirt Rocket also comes with a manual, which will help you assemble and put the electric-powered dirt bike together, since some assembly is required. We recommend sitting and reading through the manual with your child before they got onto the bike, since it will help them get a grasp of the basics. It will also avoid any injuries or falls that could result from not knowing how to use the bike.

You can also involve your child in putting the bike together, since this can help establish more respect for the toy.

Pros:

+ 14mph variable speed

+ Big, pneumatic knobby tires

+ Works great on various terrains

+ 90-day-warranty

+ Electric motor (chain driven motor)

+ 12v Sealed Lead Acid batteries with battery cover and charger port

+ Riser handlebars with handlebar grips

+ Handlebar Clamp

+ Hand-operated rear brake with Variable Speed

+ Up to 30-60 minutes of continuous riding

Cons:

– Will be too small for 13+ year-old children/teens

Who Is It Suitable For?

Since the age ranges that Razor places on their products are extremely versatile, it’s better to look at the dimensions of the product itself. Like we stated before, Razor says that this MX350 electric bike is meant for 13 year olds, but after a lot of research we came to the conclusion that it’s actually ideal for 5-7 year olds. It’s best to either look at the specific measurement of the pocket bike, or go to a local retailer and try one out!

Why We Like It

The Dirt Rocket Electric Motocross Bike (the MX350 version) is one of Razor’s best dirt bikes for kids. This is simply because it’s so versatile, and can be ridden on both rough and smooth terrain, and has quite a long battery life. It can go up to 14mph, which is perfect for any child that is 8 years old or younger. All in all, this is a great sturdy pocket bike that your child will have many memories with as they grow.

What you need to know about Razor Ripstik Caster Boards

Key Features

Razor Ripstik Ripster deckEvery parent knows that forcing your child to have fun outside doesn’t usually go according to plan. Most of the time, they prefer the safety and security of their own room where they can interact with their friends online.

The trick is to gift them something that will make them want to run out and play outside for hours on end. We think that the Razor RipStik is the ideal product to help you get that kind of reaction from your child. Need something more stable for younger children? Check out the Razor dune buggy right here.

Not only does it have a fantastic, engaging design that fits the appeal of many kids, but it’s compact and easy to carry around. If your child will want to go the park, take it on a trip, on a holiday or to a friend’s house, there will be no problem with that as the design allows east transportability. The board is light weight, relatively short and can be transported easily. This is one of the reasons many parents flock to buy this product: it’s not as heavy as a skateboard, and can accompany and occupy your child wherever you go. With the rubber padded steel torsion bar, you can be rest assured your child will have safe fun.

Since Razor ripstik caster boards are still relatively new to the market, we decided to compile a quick overview of the features that a Razor brights caster board has. Ranging from information about the deck, to tips about riding and staying safe!

Design

The Rip-Stik has been designed to attract many modern-day audiences. The thunderbolt design allows you to associate the product with speed, adrenaline and fun. If you are looking for a board that will allow you to do more tricks than the RipStik Classic, then the RipStik Ripster should be the go-to choice. Looking for a bike? Check out the Razor MX650 motocross dirt bike for something a little different.

Color & Appeal

The Ripster is available in several colors: blue, red and black. No matter what kind of attire you like wearing when you are out skating, one of these three color variations will undoubtedly end up suiting your style. Other color variations like blue-pink can also be found in limited edition sales, or you can of course purchase one from a previous buyer.

Regardless, Razor has put a lot of emphasis on the design of their RipStik Caster Boards, and it definitely shows. The pattern looks fun, engaging and makes the kids want to jump on straight away.

Deck

Thanks to the compact design of the deck, it’s ideal for kids learning to ride. It allows them to quickly grasp the basics of riding as they adjust to the ideally-designed size. This will help build confidence that could have turned into disappointment if they were trying to ride a bigger board to no avail.

The deck itself can carry up to 143lbs, which means that it’s ideal for kids, young teens and adults alike as long as they fit within the weight range. It has a snowboard-like carving ability, or twisting motion, and removable deck plates.

Overall, Razor’s intent with this board was to make it light weight.

In essence, they managed to design a board that is targeted for both kids learning to ride and adults who want to do more complex tricks.

Deck Specifics

The shorter wheel base is perfect for those riders that have a narrower stance and find it difficult to control bigger boards. No matter if you just prefer smaller boards or if you want to do more tricks with a more compact RipStik, the Ripster is ideal for both scenarios.

The high tech polymer used to make the board is durable, reliable and wear-resistant, meaning that it will take years before you will start to see signs of wear and tear. The concave deck platforms also add additional aid to the anti-slip features for simple weight transfer.

Wheels

The wheels on the board are about 66mm and are made of high-grade urethane. The previous model from Razor, the RipStik Classic, had 76mm wheels. It’s quite a significant change going down a whole 10mm, but it’s definitely worth it if you want to do more tricks or gift the board to a younger child.

Urethane wheels are ideal for caster boards since they don’t absorb any water, oil or grease. This means that they can carry you through any unexpected occurrences that may appear on the road.

Urethane Wheels

Urethane manages to combine the rigidity of plastics and flexibility of rubber. The thing about urethane wheels is that because of this, they have a wide density range. They are neither rock solid nor soft, which makes them ideal for a smooth ride on several terrains, whether it’s hard or smooth gravel or a pavement. Going over bumps will not phase you, and the ride will be painless.

All of this means that the urethane wheels featured with the RipStik Ripster are ideal for both carrying you on hard gravel, and for doing tricks mid-air, or simply sliding past on the ramps. Wheels made from this material generally have phenomenal anti-tear and abrasion resistance qualities. If you like being more aggressive with your riding, then you will definitely benefit from purchasing this kind of coaster board. Similarly, if you are planning on riding very regularly this is a great investment if you want to keep a board as a companion for several years.

Speed

Despite the changes made to the RipStik Ripster, it’s still a very efficient caster board that allows for even more tricks and fun to be had. The Ripster still has Razor’s classic features. Features such as the inclined caster trucks and pivoting deck provide stability for snowboardlike carving. There is no specific speed-limit to the RipStik Caster Board, that’s why it can be unpredictable sometimes. The best thing you can do is take safety precautions, and that’s what we will quickly address next.

Safety

Under the description of every Razor caster board that Razor manufactures and produces, there is a safety warning.

This especially applies to people who are just starting out and have never ridden before, since it can take a while to figure out how to ride a Ripster, and quite a few bumps, falls and scratches may occur.

Razor recommends purchasing kneed pads, elbow pads and a helmet before starting to ride.

After you get used to the deck and you can control it and predict its moves, the knee and elbow pads can come off since they can be cumbersome when you want to do tricks. The helmet, however, should always stay on: you never know when you can slip on a caster board, or when a bump leads you to go in a different direction than desired.

Caster Trucks and Pivoting Deck

The pivoting deck allows you to turn anywhere, anytime, towards any direction. It can take a while to learn to maneuver the deck due to its many possibilities, but once you get a hang of it, you will be able to make the board do whatever you like, just like with riding a bicycle.

The 360 degree caster trucks with ABEC5 bearing casters enable you to go in virtually any direction you desire; although this sounds fun and promising, it may take a while for a beginner to get used to the unpredictably of the board before they learn to control it. That also means that you have to constantly be moving and establishing the direction and destination of riding toys, otherwise you can quickly veer off course.

Pros:
+ 360-degree inclined caster trucks
 with ABEC5 bearing casters
+ Urethane wheels with replacement wheel
+ Slip-Resistant
+ No assembly needed & frustration free packaging
+ Lithium-ion battery
+ Simple weight transfer
+ Snowboard like Carving ability with Twisting motion
+ Removable deck plates
+ Rubber Padded Steel Torsion bar
+ Spiked traction pads
+ Kick tail and nose

Cons
:
– May be too compact for some

Who Is It Suitable For?

Like all Razor products, the RipStik Ripster is very versatile. As long as the person riding is within the 143lbs weight range, there should be no problem in letting both kids, adults and teens ride it.

There is, however, a learning curve, and that’s why generally the youngest kids allowed on the board should be at least 9 years old. If you have 6-7 year olds that are mature for their age, are eager to learn and stay safe on the Ripster, then there is no reason to not allow them to try, but make sure that they have proper safety gear and instructions first!

Why We Like It

The RipStik Ripster is one of our favorite caster boards from Razor thanks to its light weight, compact shape and urethane wheels. The board is ideal for tricks, and for familiarizing kids with coaster boards. It will help anyone gain confidence in riding, and it’s a lot of fun to learn to control the 360-degree caster trucks and pivoting deck. It’s definitely a challenge, and it’s 100% worth its price!

Key Features

Satisfying toddlers can be difficult. Their preferences change from day to day. A toy that may have been their favorite on Monday, may be left in the dust by Friday. Buying toys for young children is shooting in the dark, at best. That’s why it’s best to invest in something that they can use all the time. Razor’s Rip-Rider is a toy that can be used inside and outside of the house, and is ideal for riding around the neighborhood.

Buying toys like the Razor Rip Rider Caster trike that we suggest here will ensure that your child is entertained all throughout their outdoor excursions. They will be able to glide, explore, ride and spin all under the watchful eye of their parent and/or guardian.

The Razor Rip Rider 360 is the ideal gift for kids that are too young to have a bike, but still want to have a lot of fun. Thanks to the 360-manuverable wheels, this toy is definitely more on the daredevil side. Luckily, thanks to the sturdy grips implemented everywhere, the Razor Rider remains safe, sturdy and reliable, allowing parents to relax.

Since 360 ride on toys are still relatively new to the market, we took it upon ourselves to discuss a few of its features. Hopefully the following quick review will help you decide if the Razor RipRider 360 will be ideal for your child.

Design & Appeal

The Razor Rip Rider drifting trike will arrive looking like a very sporty, menacing tricycle for toddlers and beyond. With its blue colors, red accessories and white stripes going way down the seat, this toy is meant to look like it represents the word ‘fast’. The small, comic-like illustrations of whirwind and razors all around the front wheel will also undoubtedly attract any energetic toddler to try it out.

Caster Wheels

Another thing worth mentioning about the front wheel is the fact that it is high-impact. Your child will be able to bump into bushes, walls or anything at all without getting too much of the impact of the hit.

It’s also important to note that it’s extremely easy to assemble the wheel on backwards during the assembly-stage, which can significantly damage the bike if you try to ride it that way, therefore we recommend double-checking if it’s facing and matching the same sides as listed in the manual.

Drifting

One of the best features of the Razor 360 Rip Rider includes its ability to swerve, spin and drift in 360 angles. This may seem like a dangerous feature, but if the child can hold a firm grip, it’s only harmless fun.

The rear-casters have been designed in such a way that they allow the child to spin and drift 360, whenever they want. The big, front rubber wheel also allows them to keep just enough grip on the road to not fall over when doing the drifting. Looking for a drifting alternative? Try out the Razor Crazy Cart for some awesome sideways action!

Drifting Razor RipRiderThe Razor Rip Rider is also easier to ride thanks to its 360 swerve features.

This makes it different from the other tricycles on the market that have big, heavy, rubber front and rear wheels that are difficult to turn.

The Razor Rip Rider is ideal for toddlers who want to have a lot of fun, and don’t want to be limited by difficult bike designs.

The drifting feature on this Razor drifting trike is also well-developed, which means that it doesn’t ‘jerk’ when your child tries to turn, stop or speed-up.

Handlebars

To help the kids stay safe, the handlebars have also been equipped with rubber grips. This helps ensure that even when your child is swerving, they will be able to hold a firm grip and stop when they wish to.

They won’t have to deal with slippery metal or plastic handlebars that are usually common in other drifter tricycles out on the market. The handlebars have also been designed after the MX-Style, which will suit just about any toddler that is enthusiastic about dirt bikes and dirt road riding in general.

Frame

It’s also important to note that the Razor 360 riding toy has a sturdy, steel frame that is meant to be long-lasting. After all, with all the swerving and drifting, the frame of the caster tricycle needs to be sturdy and reliable. Luckily, the double-crown fork is also there to help maintain the balance and stability of the frame. The 3-piece crank handlebars also help to reinforce the stability of the top and bottom part of the tricycle.

Weight Limit

The RipRider 360 can also support up to 160lbs weight limit. Which means that its ideal for kids above 5 years of age. The Razor Bike is also very responsive to steering, which means that your child won’t have trouble getting anywhere they want.

Assembly

Putting the RipRider 360 riding toy together takes no more than 15-20 minutes, and it shouldn’t be a problem to disassemble it just to make it portable again.

It’s definitely worth the effort if you want to keep your kids entertained during your holidays and/or trips outside!

As for the weight of the Razor Rider, it only weighs about 15 pounds, which makes it relatively lightweight if you want to carry it around, too.

The caster tricycle also comes with an easy-to-use manual that will help you get the grasp of how your child should use the drifting trike safely.

There is also no way that the RipRide will turn or tip over, as long as your child follows the riding instructions, which makes it ideally safe and reliable. It’s also very easy to assemble; many parents report that they have been able to even encourage the kids to join in into the quick initial construction of the Razor RipRider.

Portability

The riding toy itself is about 27.5 x 10.2 x 14.5 inches dimension-wise, which makes it the ideal size for storing and even taking on trips. It’s not foldable, but it can also be disassembled and returned to its original state.

Every parent knows that the kids can get tired easily, especially toddlers, so this is definitely a vital note.

If your child does get tired, they can also just push or scoot along with their legs alongside you. The versatility of the RipRider is definitely unmatched, and it will be a good addition to just about any home  that has kids that need some new entertainment.

Reliable & Sturdy

Razor Rip Rider 360 Build QualityRazor has also managed to supply the market with a good, reliable batch of Razor 360s.

There are virtually no defect ride on toys provided by Razor here, and that’s a vital point.

Some tricycles are advertised well, but fail to live up to the expectations when you end up bringing them into your home and introducing them to your kids.

Luckily, we can safely say that the Razor RipRider 360 has been a hit among both kids and parents, and has become a best-seller for good reasons. We do recommend wearing safety gear when using the Razor Rip Rider.

Age Range

Another good thing about the Razor 360 is the fact that it appeals to both younger and older kids. For example, if you have several children aged between 5-10 years old, they can all safely use and take turns with the RipRider. Many customers report that kids as young as 4 and as old as 8 can all have fun with the drifting trike, and it’s perfect to keep the kids occupied during family grills and/or gatherings.

Terrain

The RipRider should ideally be ridden on smooth, black roads, pavements and/or driveways. It’s definitely not meant for on-grass or on-dirt riding, which means that kids who live in more rural areas, around forests and fields, won’t have as much fun with it.

Pros:

+ 360-swerve feature (drift and spin)

+ Sturdy, double crown fork

+ Comes with a 6-month warranty

+ Carries up to 160lbs

+ Great Caster Tricycle

+ Dual inclined caster wheels allow for spinning action

Cons

– Doesn’t ride on rough terrains i.e grass, dirt roads

If you are interested in similar tricycles to the Razor RipRider, we can wholeheartedly recommend the Razor FlashRider 360. Unlike the RipRider, the FlashRider has dual inclined caster wheels, that allow for extra swerving and gliding. The caster trike also has firm, rubber grips, a three-piece crank, double crown fork for balance and stability and a Spark Bar feature.

This caster trike is ideal for kids above 6 years of age, and will require a bit of assembly. Luckily, putting it together shouldn’t take more than 15-20 minutes to put it together with the manual in hand. You can also consider the Razor Powerwing scooter.

Who Is It Suitable For?

Any toddler above 5 years of age is able to ride the Razor Rip Rider. Some customers have already stated that kids as young as 4 can even give it a go, as well as kids as old as 12. It’s the perfect toy to gift to your child, and is the ideal toy to encourage siblings playing together. Many grandparents state that they use it as a grandpa/grandma house toy when their grandkids come over to play.

Why We Like It

We like the Razor RipRider 360 thanks to its well-designed 360 swerve feature. It’s safe, and reliable, and even though can kids go to some impressive speeds at times, no serious injuries have occurred when riding the RipRider so far.

This is all thanks to the well-designed, sturdy steel frame, rubber-grip handlebars, and well-positioned seat that distributes the rider’s weight accordingly when they ride and swerve.

Razor E100 Electric Scooter Buyers Guide

Key Features

Deck

The Razor Power Core E100 has a simple, wide deck that is equipped with a kick-start motor that features two12V lead acid rechargeable batteries. One of the best features appreciated by parents within the E100 electric scooter is definitely the kick-start motor.

The foot deck itself is about 8” wide, which means that any child up to 120lbs shouldn’t have a problem getting on and cruising. If you are looking for a larger scooter, we can recommend taking a look at the E200 and E300 electric scooter by Razor scooters which have bigger decks for riders that exceed the 120lbs mark!

Kick-Off Feature

Child having fun on E100 electric scooterThe child first needs to kick off, start riding and start cruising at a reasonable speed of 3mph before the motor activates itself. This new process saves a lot of jolting, falling off and prevents accidents in general.

Having a smooth start when you are looking to have a few hours of fun is definitely a good thing! Especially for kids that can sometimes be impatient, and want to kick off and start riding immediately.

Kids who are less balanced and coordinated will also enjoy this slow start since it allows the rider to slowly ease-in into the process.

One thing to pay attention to is the bottom part of the deck when riding. When doing sharp turns, the motor cover can end up catching on the sidewalk and as a result can get potentially damaged (this can also apply to the motor).

Chain Driven Motor

All in all, the Razor Power Core E100 is equipped with a 100w chain that is powered by a durable, steady 24 volt battery. All the Razor Models that fall under the Power Core brand also have an in-hub motor that is known for having less troubleshooting and doesn’t beg for regular maintenance like other Razor motors. Most problems that occur with the Razor E100 can result from the chain getting off track, however, while putting it back can be a bit challenging at first, it’s 100% doable.

The 24 volt battery within the Razor power core E100 electric scooter can take about 12 hours to charge initially, as the first charge needs to be longer and more boosted to get the scooter going. Charges that will come after the 12 hrs will usually amount to about 8 hrs. It has to be pointed out that parents (and in some cases diligent kids) will need to religiously monitor the charging times.

Red E100 scooterIt’s not advised to not use the high-torque motor for weeks at a time without giving the E100 battery an electric boost.

It’s also not recommended to leave the Razor power core e100 electric scooter charging via a battery charger for any longer than 8 hrs since that can easily fry the system.

Also, keeping the power-switch off when not using the scooter is absolutely essential so that the Razor power core E100 battery doesn’t die quickly.

Wheels

The improvement that is exceptionally noticeable within the Razor E100 is the fact that is has a front air tire. This is different when comparing it to the front wheel of its predecessor, the E90, which had a polyurethane front wheel. The advantage of the front air tire being that it cruises and rides more smoothly than its polyurethane counterpart.

The front air tire measures about 8”, while the back wheel is a bit smaller and made of polyurethane. This difference between the two wheels means that the Razor E100 is still a bit slower than the E200. The E90 was equipped with two polyurethane wheels which made riding a bit jolty.

E100 wheels and deckThe E200 on the other hand is equipped with two air tire wheels which makes cruising extremely fast, smooth, and mostly meant for more coordinated kids.

The E100 has the best of both worlds, both a front air tire and a polyurethane rear wheel. While the Razor E100 is still able to go at the max speed and crash when you are not paying attention, it’s still more safe than the E200.

Handlebars

The handlebars featured on the Razor E100 are the usual average handlebars used on most Razor scooter models.

Razor E100 handlebars

The handlebars are non-adjustable, have good rubber slip-resistant grips and they even feature bumpers on the ends of the handles so that should your kids’ hands wander, they will halt and stop before falling off. This is the ideal protection against accidents since kids can be quite absent-minded when riding Razor electric scooters in particular.

The throttle of the Razor E100 that is in charge of the speed resides on the right hand side. You will need to teach your child to firmly hold the throttle in place, with the grip remaining tight and steady. It’s also important to note that the throttle doesn’t encourage varied speeds. That can only be modified by hand before getting on. not by the throttle.

Air Tires vs. Polyurethane

The air tire is better in the aspects that it’s capable of absorbing any obstacles like cracks and bumps that may occur on the road. This means that you can have a faster ride without many interruptions. The E200 that features two air tires definitely goes faster, and costs quite a bit more, and that’s why as a starting point for kids we recommend the Razor E100 more often.

It allows the child to get used to the riding, the coordination, the balance and the manual of using an electric scooter. With the E100 Razor Scooter, your child will be able to steer relatively far away from accidents and health risks as long as they are careful.

Handbrakes

Razor power core E100 handbrakeJust like with any scooter, the E100 Razor Scooter also sports a very stylish and responsive hand operated front brake. You will find one hand operated front brake on the left hand side that will help stop the front tire. This positioning results from the fact that the throttle twist grip accelerator resides on the right hand side.

When riding, your child will need to keep a careful grip on both handlebars to be able to fully control the scooter when the scooter reaches its max speed. It’s also possible to slow down the kids scooter by slowly releasing the grip from the throttle, allowing the scooter to relax.

Weight Capacity

The Razor E100 is meant for kids, and is ideal for kids above the ages of 8 years old. Since the age recommendations are usually arbitrary, the decision of where you want to put your child on the scooter remains up to you. Some 6 and 7 year old kids are mature and can handle riding the E100 perfectly well. While some 9 or 10 year olds don’t have enough maturity, balance, responsibility or coordination to handle an electric scooter.

The scooter itself can carry up to 120lbs which is the ideal age range to allow all kids to enjoy a bit of fun on the Razor E100.

Pros:
+ Support a kick-off start
+ Pneumatic front tire
+ Carries up to 120lbs
+ Ideal for kids 8+ years old
+ Retractable kickstand
+ Kick start motor
+ Hand operated front brake
+ Twist grip accelerator

Cons:
– Chain driven motor can come off on occasion

Why We Like The Razor E100

The E100 Razor electric scooter is the perfect starting point for any young scooter enthusiast that wants to try something new. We consider it the ideal introduction to the electric scooter world. With a 10mph speed, it also goes fast enough to give the kids the adrenaline they need, while keeping parents just at the edge of their seat when monitoring the rides!

It also has the perfect mix of features to keep the ride entertaining time and time again. No matter if you are riding for the first or tenth time, you will enjoy it just as much as at the beginning.

Alternative Product – Razor E200

Razor E200

Our alternative has to be the E200 electric scooter by Razor thanks to its all-air-tire wheels that we have briefly discussed previously. The scooter not only goes faster than the E100 Razor Scooter (the speeds going up to at least 12mph) but it’s also is a bit more expensive.

That’s why we remain looking at your budget before investing in this one! All in all, the E200 is best recommended for teenagers, and for kids generally above the 13 years of age due to its faster and more aggressive riding capabilities.
